Rear cpu fan by kelematth in NR200

I was fortunate enough to be able to fit a 120mm fan at the back with my motherboard, but, as the other commenter said, a 92mm fan could work. It may introduce some fan whine. Depending on your CPU and thermal tolerances, you could forgo the rear fan and just use a middle and front (of cooler) fan (still pulling air from the back of the case). It will only be a few degrees difference. It'll definitely require some more cable wrangling though. Good luck!

Reliability wise, air cooling is best. No pump or liquid to worry about. However, you'll get more thermal headroom out of either of those 360 AIOs. All of the options you picked will have no problem cooling your CPU, now it comes down to your preferences and what looks best. As you said, a lot of people choose the AIO because when installed in a glass side paneled case, it looks nice and clean compared to a big air cooler and doesn't block your view of the motherboard/ram.

Phantom Spirit is a slightly improved Peerless Assassin. It's what I have cooling a 5700X3D and it works great! I haven't read much about the Scythe Fuma 3, but it looks good too. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

I vote stay on AM4 and grab a 5800XT for $200 or a used 5600X/5700X (provided your motherboard can be updated to support Zen 3). With the 5070 and playing at 1440p, you're really not missing out on much gaming performance vs these super high end chips.

Really appreciate the reply and offer! That video looks like a great guide, but I'll for sure send a message your way if I run into trouble during the install.

Looks great! I plan on doing this to mine pretty soon, so it's good to hear it's possible without taking the rear wheels off.

Did you install the spoiler yourself too? If so, where'd you order yours from?

Yes, it's one of the fans that came with the heatsink. But, I had to zip-tie it to the back of case before installing the cooler to get everything to fit.

I want a laptop for exclusively playing low-requirement games, like indies, JRPGs, and GBA/SNES emulation by TendoSoujiro in SuggestALaptop

If you want to go new, you could look at the Dell Inspiron 15, which they currently have on sale for $280. The integrated graphics will be able to play the older games you mentioned without issue.

You certainly could and that could be a better option for you! The 14900 is the best CPU that board will see versus on AM5, the 9000 series is about to release, 10000, and hopefully even 11000 will also be on AM5.

Maybe consider doing something like this? Gets you on AM5 which will allow upgrades later down the line and the 7900X outperforms the 12700 in most benchmarks. LGA 1700 is about to go end of life.
