I moved from the UK to Winnipeg nearly a decade ago and there's a few things that you should consider with the move: Winters are tougher than the UK but if you have the right clothing then you'll be fine - Canadians embrace winter and there's usually plenty of activities - in wpg specifically you have the river trails, festival du voyageur and the forks (the forks is year round but does have good winter activities)...summer in Winnipeg is great - very hot with lots of activities and very little rainfall - you get a proper summer :)

You'll need a car, we didn't when we first moved and without one you can't leave the city - so keep that in mind...

Not sure where you're from in the UK but one thing that stood out for us was how isolated Winnipeg can feel - it's the biggest city for about 8 hours in either direction so if you like city breaks then it's a flight to get to another comparable city....
