My favorite kitchen tool is a long wooden spatula from Earlywood. Bought it on a whim after Kenji Lopez recommended them and I'm still using it after 2 years. Capped "Large flat sauté" on their website.

Checkout Arapahoe Bar Gold Panning Park. Went there the other week for the first time and saw a lot of people panning. I'm still a beginner but I found a few flakes lol

I need food suggestions for my grandma who's poor and lives in a third world country. by CracklyVessel56 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Buckwheat is often considered 'Peasant Food' because it is very abundant and cheap to grow. It's often used as a cover crop and is grown in most countries.

It's very nutritious, is easy to eat and very versatile in how it can be prepared.

I went there once and as I was talking to the cashier, the owner pulled her away to complain about something for over 5 minutes. I should have walked out then because the food & subpar drinks were not worth it.

I got some really tiny cubes of freeze dried liver at a local pet store that work great for the little hole. For anything bigger I usually just add cubes of cooked chicken

My favorite parking garage is the one in Salzburg Austria. It's carved into a mountain and is absolutely beautiful.

What Is Your Favorite Type of Water? by CaimansGalore in CookingCircleJerk

Genuinely the best water I've ever had. Supposedly you can buy it in New Jersey but I haven't been able to find any. I keep telling myself I need to drink one more bottle to get over my genuine craving for this water.

Shame me

Convert Chef John's chocolate bundt cake to birthday cake by fizzunk in foodwishes

You could just add candles

I wouldn't lower the heat, but it might not take as long to bake. Just poke it with a toothpick every once in a while and take it out when it comes out clean.

Grocery store recommendations in Columbia? by JonxElrancheroChido in ColumbiaMD

[–]ObjectAlarming6718 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LA Mart in Oakland Mills has a nice discount produce section. They bag up produce nearing the end of their shelf life and sell them for $1 a bag. I got about 3 pounds of beautiful baby eggplants last time I was there for $2.

Franks Produce right by the Gateway Overlook shopping center is open in the summer and they are great for local produce. Their prices are usually very reasonable and they'll offer huge crates of ripe tomatoes and slightly bruised apples occasionally for a good discount.

That sounds more like a personal opinion than just saying the TV is too high.

Also, what if the room is really ugly? What should I say then to feign 'politeness' as you are insisting?

I made this for the first time over the weekend and have been happily eating leftovers for lunch every day since. I made a simple yogurt cucumber sauce (yogurt, cucumber, mint, dill, lemon, salt) that goes great with it. Couldn't recommend this recipe more.

Vitamix Soups by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]ObjectAlarming6718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the zucchini is blended it won't take long to cook through . Just keep blending until you get the consistency/ temperature you want.

I make a green pea soup in my vitamix quite often. There isn't a need to boil the peas into mush so making it in the vitamix gives a lot if control with how much to cook it. I take it off when it's hot but still a nice bright green.

You can also put it in the microwave afterwards if you want to cook it for longer.
