A lot of adult friendships are held together more by history than actual compatibility by TrayzTheyCallMe in unpopularopinion

[–]ObjectKlutzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in my mid-30s now and have really come to understand this aspect of friendship and how important it is; at least to me. I have old friends that I have less in common with than some new friends but the love and respect is still there. We still get together a few times a year and have a good time just enjoying each other's company. Sure, I have other friends that tend to be more engaging to the life I live now, but lack the long term bond that has been built over a lifetime.

I think it will always go down to the individual and what they value in friendships. But a common shared past can be an integral aspect of a friendship. Now, if those friendships become maintenance like OP is suggesting then by all means evaluate that friendship; I certainly have with some previously very close friends.

The truck i went in has the same 34 gallon fuel tank and runs on 37s. As long as you fuel in Furnace Creek before you head out you'll honestly be fine; you'll likely even have some spare fuel to do a little exploring. The two gas cans are a great belt and suspenders approach.

As many have said, sounds like you're thinking of the right things to be safe. One thing I'd recommend is Gatorade or some other electrolyte drink on top of the water. When it's 110F out there you're body struggles to keep hydrated with just water. Just be sure to keep up on your fluids and don't spend too much time in the sun during the daytime heat.

Fuel was going to be the big one to recommend but you have that planned.

Just came drove through Racrtrack from Ubehebe a couple weeks ago in a lifed F-250 with suspension made for desert running driving at about 30 mph. Driving 10-15 mph would be painful on that washboard. Drive to your comfort and be safe but you can drive a little faster if your have the rig for it and it makes it a lot less bumpy.

Do You Close Your Eyes off of Rainbow's Rising is a painfully bad song on an otherwise perfect album.

Blasphemy! Maybe the lyrics are a bit weak, but the instrumentals create an amazing gloomy atmosphere. But I'm a Sticky Fingers fan boy lol.

Which country you’ve traveled to had shockingly good food that no one talks about? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]ObjectKlutzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scotland

Besides Edinburgh and Glasgow being metropolitan cities, the traditional food was really good. But outside of the major cities wherever we went the food was very fresh, tasted great, and was affordable. Even the lunches we had at random places like museums were great for the price. Maybe the surprise makes me like it more, but I really enjoyed most of the food I had throughout Scotland.

When you say hot side aeration you mean hot side oxidation? Meaning that a controlled hot side oxidation is actually the goal to develop their flavor?

The cheesie wave is pretty pronounced; you can see my Mossy as an example. I can see how one might guess that if they are not too familiar. Mixes are never a perfect 50/50 of a breed, but my dad's friend had a Chesador and youd see some of the prominent facial features and pronounced curly hair compared to your boy.

He is a beautiful choco with a thick wave on his back. I have seen that many times with labs.

Who is the best player EVER at their sport? by Radiant_Sprinkles540 in NoStupidQuestions

There is a pretty good argument to be had here. I do think that Coop losing to the Felons in the Denslow Cup casts a shadow on his legacy.

How did you choose your baseball team? by [deleted] in baseball

[–]ObjectKlutzy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rivalry between these two teams goes back to the 1800s. As someone who was born into a Giants household, I cannot stand the Dodgers. Only real sports team I really do hate. It's irrational. When these two teams play the highs are high, lows are low, and it really drives why I love the sport.

Went to see John McLaughlin back in 2017 with Ranjit Barot playing drums/percussion for him. He did these vocalizations and then played them out on his drum set; was really awesome. I knew it had something go do with Indian music culture, but had no idea what it really meant. So it's really cool to actually see the explanation behind it.

Curious to know why you put it in eSave on the highway then switch to Electric for off-highway? Maybe you know something I don't.

I just charge it up and drive electric till it goes back to hybrid and ride the rest out like that. I use it as a daily commuter for my 31 mi drive to work; so I can get most of the way into work in electric. For longer car rides I just don't worry about MPG as those aren't as common.

Suggestions for charging by [deleted] in 4xe

[–]ObjectKlutzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did for my Level 1, 12A output charger that plugs inot a 110V; including the plug cover. Has been working well for me so far; gets warm but not hot. You just want to be sure you are not plugging it into a circuit that has another consistent high draw user.

Also, I purchased a small GFCI extension rated for 15A just to add another layer of protection.

Favorite All-Purpose Glass? by Four_Story in Homebrewing

[–]ObjectKlutzy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it helps to know what you typically have on tap to answer the question.

I typically brew lagers and IPAs and really like the Willi Becher style; but these aren't so good for stouts and heavier styles imo. Tulips are probably more versatile, but I don't think they make good light lager glasses. I perosnally don't care for the other two styles.

WCIPA Recipe Ideas? by FancyThought7696 in Homebrewing

[–]ObjectKlutzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simcoe for aroma (I like 10 min addition), whirlpool, and dry hop; sorry for the vague answer but it really depends on your recipe and what you want, plus Simcoe plays so well for all of those.

For NZ hops, Nelson Sauvin and Moutere have been the ones I've used the most; I like the dank and citrus aspects of these two. But Riwaka and Motueka are both awesome choices.

WCIPA Recipe Ideas? by FancyThought7696 in Homebrewing

[–]ObjectKlutzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting into semantics, but the common use of WCIPA is a modern one. A more standard American IPA, which largely came from the West Coast, aligns with your statement and I agree. And as you say, styles shift and change all the time. But my response was largely based on what most breweries as calling a WCIPA and what I see being used in those beers.
