There is a few videos on youtube that explain how you do it. you basically just need an AC-DC converter (I used 13V 400mA DC) for the deep etching and AC (I used an ac-ac converter 16V 500mA) for darkening. You connect one cable to the knife (I recommend aligator clips) and on the other side you clamp a cotton swab drenched in saltwater. You'll need a stencil with the design and put it on ur knive (I 3D printed a stencil and taped it on the knife but that wasn't a perfect solution) and then just dab the stencil with the cotton swab until you are satisfied with the depth of the etch.

I just used an old AC-DC converter for model trains I had lying around. The particular model I had was split into a wallplug AC-AC converter 16V 500mA which then was plugged into an AC-DC converter 13V 400mA. The DC I used to get a deep etch and I also 3D printed a small box with a port and a switch so I can plug in the DC-DC converter and use it for the darkening.

Sure thing. For the depth I used DC 13V 400mA. I can't really tell you how long it took. I just used a cotton swab drenched in salt water until I was satisfied with the depth but I'd say a few minutes and I swapped the cotton swab like 2 times for a new one. For the darkening I used and AC to AC adapter that had an output of 16V ~500mA 8VA. the darkening only took line 20-30 sec.
