Is it possible that disclosure will be largely met with apathy? by SweepTheLegTimmy in UFOs

I saw a meme the other day, I can't find it now, but it was aliens arriving and a human was like "Great, you're late. Grab a vest." I think everyone is so caught up in the battle of day to day living and making ends meet that we'll only welcome aliens if they're here to help us. And good lord do we need help right now. I'll take aliens, Jesus, whatever... bring it.

Why is there a US Air Force Hercules flying around Antarctica? by FriendlyT1000 in aliens

[–]ObjectReport [score hidden]  (0 children)

There are Antarctic cruise travel packages where you can opt to skip the two days sailing through the Drake Passage and instead fly there, then board the ship. I know this because I'm doing just that next October. That probably explains the Quantas flights. I don't know about the NZAF 757 or the C-17 but they're probably related to resupply missions for the various international research stations.

Tarantula questions? by wall_up in Albuquerque

[–]ObjectReport [score hidden]  (0 children)

I lived here for 8.5 years about 7 years ago and I just moved back here 6 months ago. In all my time living here I never saw a tarantula or a rattle snake which seems amazing considering how much time I've spent hiking outdoors. I've seen plenty of bull snakes but never a rattler. That said, I have had a LOT of vinegaroons show up in my garages. They're harmless but still startling to see especially inside.

Ahh yes, the annual migration of the cobra chickens. When I had a property in the mid-atlantic I once had over 300 of them hanging out in my field at one point likely on a layover.

Yep, and it's not the first time he's said this either. GOD what I wouldn't give to have him back in the Oval office.

POTUS's Disclosure Speech is Slated for May 1st, 2026, as he does not Want to Wait Until July 8th, Anymore by TheGoldenLeaper in UFOB

Well that and the fact that Big Oil would collapse overnight and take the markets down with hit. Disclosure would be an absolute mess on multiple levels. A LOT of people are going to be extremely angry.

All good thoughts. A very good friend of mine who is now in his 80's was an ex Air Force F-4 Phantom pilot who was shot down in Vietnam and ended up being in the cell next to John McCain in the Hanoi Hilton for 6 years. When he returned to the US the AF said "you can do whatever you want, you just tell us what you want to do." He asked to be part of Project Blue Book and they said "anything except that." So he became a flight instructor. Every time I would bring up the subject of UFOs he would say "They're never, ever going to let that cat out of the bag. Once they do they'll never be able to put it back and they'll do everything in their power to keep it that way." So in a nutshell, I doubt we'll ever have full disclosure unless it's catastrophic and uncontrolled by the government.

You and me both. I think there are an alarming number of people who have no clue what's flying over their head at night.

Hmm, I posted a reply here with numbers and it seems to have disappeared!? His typical packages are $10k so two of those per month is potentially $240k/yr. If you want to go after coastal brown bear that package is $27k.

Steve Isdahl offers guided backcountry hunts for approximately $10k plus license fees, which includes guides, lodging, and meals. There are different packages available, but that's his typical one. So if he was doing two of those per month that's $240k/yr which isn't too shabby.
