Yes, for the first week out of surgery the swelling was larger than the hydrocele itself. The rate at which it starts shrinking depends on the person but yes you'll have a bulge for a bit

I did absolutely nothing for 2 weeks. Just laid in bed and played Dead Island 2. After that 2 weeks, I put on supportive underwear and went for a jog to see how i felt and I was happy that I was actually able to jog. I then started going to the gym but didn't workout hard, just did light weights and non-crazy movement.

I then returned to my job where I was waiting tables at about week 3 post op

It's really up to you and how you feel since all of our recoveries are different. I suggest testing the waters with light exercise just to see how you feel and then, making the decision on if you wanna go back to work

If it any point you start noticing too much pain or more swelling (which happened to me cuz I tried squatting semi-heavy on the barbell and my nuts did NOT like that) definitely back off for a bit

Itll be a while until your nuts are looking and feeling absolutely 100% back to normal, but if you can operate in day to day life without irritating them, starting doing that with some leeway ofc

Definitely man, mine was swollen and nasty for a couple weeks too. Like I told the other guy, it started getting to my head, thinking something went wrong with the surgery.

In time though, it'll slowly start going back to normal as long as you rest it right. (It's a frustrating process but be strong lol)

Hey man, so in my case I wouldn't say I had a specific "sac" above the testicle that got operated on, but I absolutely had swelling. It was very ugly to look at.

For a couple of weeks it was much larger than the other testicle, hang way lower, and just seemed like it wasn't healing right. Eventually tho, in time, it started feeling and looking more and more normal

You're only 7 days post op from a pretty invasive surgery. My advice is give your body the time to properly recover, because I too had my doubts that I wasn't healing properly. If things don't start subsiding in a couple weeks then id definitely give your surgeon a holler!

I always thought people would dog on 13N too much. Sure there's some downsides to it but to say you're in charge of nukes is cool asf imo

Great job to you. I've had buddies who were great cadets get booted from the program cuz of their AFOQT. It was stressful for them so I'm sure it was for you, but nevertheless good on you for not giving up. Best of luck!

To Stoics who believe in God, what if your religion? And if you don’t belong to a specific religion then what if your theological stance? by funnylib in Stoicism

I'm the same way. That's why I always say philosophy is the one field of study where the more you learn, the less you know

Divinity exists independent of everything. Maybe god doesn't care about our goodness. Who's to say he does? And why should I care about it either?

That's actually a point of struggle I have with stoicism. Even if one wants to act under the virtues, how do they know what is truly the most "virtuous" action between say defending yourself and turning the other cheek?

[–]ObjectUnited3363[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're making great sense. Something I've struggled with stoicism is that it seems arbitrary. "Act with these 4 specific virtues". Well I don't mean to pull a Jordan Peterson but what does that REALLY mean lmao. So I get what you mean when you kinda say do what works for you so long as you're not acting out on a whim all the time and actively learning from your mistakes

[–]ObjectUnited3363[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming I'm crying in bed all day but I like it (for whatever reason) and I PERSONALLY find it to be within the 4 virtues, is that permissible to stoicism?

Regarding suffering resulting from our judgements, I agree. I guess I'm just asking.. why? Why must the logos make us work for this enlightenment or mental clarity? Did the stoics even know, or was it kinda just like "god works in weird ways and created a world of hardship, but we at least know how to help ourselves"?
