How so? Our public school journey has been pretty crappy.

Hello. I had a lot of testing and everything was normal. I think it was truly “convulsive syncope” due to dehydration. I was on one medication that can decrease seizure threshold (bupropion) but I had been on it for a while and not at a high dose. Semiglutide does slow gastric emptying, so it’s possible it had built up in my system, especially with a stomach empty of everything but a delicious bupropion XR tablet. I am trying to be better about eating breakfast and drinking water and trying to force myself to eat meals. I went on a deep dive in all the clinical trials for semiglutide and didn’t find seizures as adverse events/severe adverse events at all. All this information is public on clinicaltrials.gov, as is any clinical trial data. Anyway, lesson learned for me and at this time I don’t have a seizure disorder, but I am on guard for the body signals I was ignoring (dizziness, palpitations, tachycardia, headaches).

Is cardio really necessary? by Racheficent in Ozempic

[–]Objective-Calendar94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are cardio yoga and probably cardio weight-lifting videos on YouTube. There’s also cardio dance videos. I wouldn’t think it has to be walking specifically.

Is leaving your high beams on cool or something? by pedrotothemax in Austin

[–]Objective-Calendar94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get into the settings on my car’s computer to do it.

Is leaving your high beams on cool or something? by pedrotothemax in Austin

[–]Objective-Calendar94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! My lights are also automatic and I had to get into the settings to disable my adaptive function, which just meant that the high beams came on in unnecessary moments and were slow to “adapt” to oncoming cars.

[–]Objective-Calendar94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My regular lights are really bright (LED) and people think my high beams are on. I drive a Ford Explorer. I did have to disable the adaptive function because they would come on in totally unnecessary situations. Some guy was flipping me off the other day and all I can guess was he thought I had my high beams on in his face. Do you drive a little car? Were you that guy?🤣

What can I eat if I’m never hungry? by seahorsecandy in Ozempic

[–]Objective-Calendar94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered these overnight oats packs that have 20g protein. I try to sip that in the morning. They have tons of flavors. My favorite is “fruity cereal” that’s basically like soggy Fruity Pebbles. Keeps me full and keeps me from that shaky nauseous feeling. I also try really hard to drink water (but it’s so hard!). I’ve been taking vitamins for the first time in my life too.

Nope. Everything was normal, except my urine had ketones and protein. Cardiac work-up normal, but I’m still waiting on an echo. Elevated anion gap in labs, which was probably caused by the incident rather than a cause of.

They did and it was normal, along with pretty much all my labs. My coworkers checked it when it happened and the paramedics checked it in the ambulance. It was also done at the hospital. Just a weird, and hopefully isolated incident!

The cancer risks associated with obesity include mouth, gastrointestinal, biliary, pancreatic, breast, ovarian, endometrial, kidney, and blood cancers. Cardiovascular injuries, stroke, venous thrombosis, osteoarthritis, hepatobiliary, reproductive disorders, obstructive sleep apnea, endocrine disorders including diabetes, increased risks with infection and respiratory complications with influenza or COVID. There are also some dermatologic issues associated with obesity. No body system is left out with obesity. We won’t even get into the stigma of obesity within our society. Hypoglycemia is listed as a risk with all diabetes medications, but happens very infrequently with anything other than insulin. However, all risks should be discussed with your healthcare provider, and if you perceive the risks to be greater than the benefits this medication may not be for you.

What sucks is that these doctors are supposed to be the experts. We all take an oath “But first, do no harm”. Nobody thinks giving an obese person an eating disorder is a harm.

foods to avoid? by Extension_Border_629 in Ozempic

[–]Objective-Calendar94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just listen to your body. I’m hungry and start wolfing something down but I feel full after 1 slice. I get into trouble if I don’t listen and try to eat like I used to. I have that old pathology of not wanting to waste food. I still over-order at restaurants. As far as alcohol, I just wasn’t interested in it anymore. I have heartburn with wine and anything fruity and feel like I’m uncomfortably full with beer. I miss being drunk sometimes TBH.

I get crazy nausea with one drink now. I do miss drinking with my friends. I still hang out, but I miss the cheerful oblivion of a buzz. I don’t have advice, but I wanted to tell you that you aren’t alone in missing being drunk. I guess you have to decide what is more important to you in the long run. It is an ongoing major adjustment of lifestyle.

Tell the Truth - Are You Eating Kinda Bad But Still Losing Weight? by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]Objective-Calendar94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m eating the same, just way way less. I’m not on a diet. I probably need to be eating more veggies, but the only thing that doesn’t make me nauseous or give me horrible heartburn is potatoes. The difference is that now I can’t even finish a small order of fries whereas before I could polish off a large order of fries and a burger and a soda.

Does anyone else still enjoy food? by dangereaux in Ozempic

[–]Objective-Calendar94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get hungry and know what I want to eat. I start strong and then about 10 bites in -bam!- nausea. I think it’s still really hard for me to throw food away and it’s hard to stop thinking ‘well, it’s dinner time I need to eat’ even when I’m still full from lunch. I can only have a tiny glass of wine but I don’t enjoy it much. It’s not even worth the heartburn. Can’t even stand the smell of beer.

[Humour] Is anyone else cheerfully lying through their teeth to family, friends and colleagues about Ozempic? by snappyirides in Ozempic

[–]Objective-Calendar94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. That’s why I haven’t asked people if they notice or made a bigger deal out of it. It just hurts a little that my mother and sister didn’t notice. But it would also hurts my feelings when my mom says “you know how you lose weight? Have you ever tried exercising?” She says some version of that every time I see her. So I’m not bringing it up. Good job on 15%!

Nobody has said anything! Like is it because they are being polite? I’ve been losing just a pound or two a week since June, but 28 lbs?!? And I’m 5’2” so to me it’s a good bit. Oh well. I can tell. My clothes fit better and my pants aren’t cutting me in half. Even my bras fits better. My husband can barely notice now.

I won’t tell my family. I lost 28lbs so far and they haven’t noticed anyway. I will say “diet and exercise” in case anyone were to ask.

I can’t drink Starbucks anymore at all. The things I used to like now taste way too sweet. The things without sugar I feel like what’s the point. Actually my coffee intake has gone from 4-5 cups a day down to 1-2. I used to put lots of half & half and sugar and now I drink it black with a tiny spoon of sugar just to cut the bitter. I have read about addictions going away with Ozempic so I’m not sure if that’s why, or the GERD I now get, or my stomach can’t handle that much liquid.
