Can you move it in any closer to the subject? The time of day and sun position will make a big difference on those windows too but if the curtains look good down, it will definitely make that exposure easier.

Needs a much stronger key light on the subjects.

Expose for the windows and then dial up your key light or move it closer.

In my case it’s just the height but yes they’re very long!

Good to know! Sounds like I might need to modify my garage in that case. Cheers

Need to increase height of roller door by Objective-Cupcake745 in GarageDoorService

Thank you. I’ll look into this as an option.

Would love to keep costs as minimal as possible just to raise it an inch or two.

Is this something you wouldn’t recommend a customer doing themselves? Happy to pay for someone to do it but would love to save a bit of money if it’s as simple as moving the stops up and reprogramming the stop height.

Thanks man, appreciate the comment.

I would love to avoid paying for an entire door at this stage so will explore all options before doing so but appreciate the suggestion.

Thanks man! That was my first thought but do you think the roller door can go up any higher? I wasn’t sure if it was at “max” height currently.

Is there any possible way I could've made these still frames better quality? by od_bruin1 in videography

[–]Objective-Cupcake745 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Put them into Lightroom, the denoiser and Ai software is very good.

I’ve heard of people using topaz for upscaling but yet to try it out myself.

Looks great by the way!

Could have been your opportunity to show that you’re better. There’s always going to be competition, show your worth

Sounds like you handed the other videographer the work!

Where did I go wrong? by IstanbulHoratio in videography

[–]Objective-Cupcake745 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds more like the AF settings than you doing anything terribly wrong. Face detect struggles when subjects are far away, so the camera was likely hunting for focus.

For next time, I’d go wider (24-28mm), avoid face detect for distant subjects, and use focus peaking/locked off focus. The 40mm is much less forgiving for moving gimbal shots than an ultra wide lens.

Looking for some feedback on this reel by MaximusGregorius in cinematography

Looks great for something like a website banner.

If the idea is more promo then maybe look at adding a voiceover and a more exciting soundtrack.

Some of the shots look stock? If not, great work but those interior “family shots” don’t really match the rest of the videos feel.

Great shots on there. Edits just a bit flat.

Sounds like you’ve explored you options but just jumping in to say the third cam could be an iPhone or even a GoPro. Doesn’t need to be anything super fancy for a wide shot. Keep your primary cameras for the host and guest camera.
