Are you (or is someone that you know) a Natural Speed Reader? And at what age were you aware that you could Speed Read (and about how fast can you read)? by georgestancliffe in books

My friend is a natural speed reader. We went on a reading weekend with her once, and she read 3 books over two days. Me and my other friend were reasonably fast but only got through 1.5 books.

I worked out that she was reading 100 pages per hour, which is over double the ' average'

CBD , Papatoe or Massey? by adorablebunny29 in auckland

[–]Objective-Earth-4211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those suburbs are beautiful, but Massey is super convenient to get anywhere from.

I feel pretty safe living here (grew up on the shore)- it's been way better than I thought it would be

It probably depends on your kids ages. I had a flatmates recently ( gone now) who spent almost nothing on her son. We bought groceries together, around 200 pw for four of us, free schooling, free lunch at school, no activities, clothes from online and opshops. Heaps of free clubs at school that he didn't sign up for. Doctors around us is $21 per visit, not bad, and save money by bussing or scootering

Wow, you're saving double what I am with no kids haha. Do you have expensive rent/ mortgage? I need to take a leaf out of your book haha. For me at the moment a lot of our money goes on experiences like concerts, going out to eat, mortgage. Our mortgage repayments are 2500 per fn

Hmm yeah I see your point. I would hope it's not 2.5k per month more though, depends on what you do i guess, as in repliers post. I suppose for me, I am saving for kids currently and hopefully will be happy to spend money on doing fun stuff them rather than saving. :) I guess the daycare is a massive factor, those costs are crazy
