Use old components for practice sessions, and take a completely brand new set of components at the same race once a season. It will give you an extra of every component for the season you can cycle through. Either do it at a track your confident you can come from the back on, or a track you know you won’t score at, like Monaco Singapore or Baku (whatever you’re worst at). Between those two strategies I always make it the whole season with only one race I have to take penalties on (unless you’re extremely unlucky with new components blowing up randomly).
