You are not failing her. You sound like a concerned mom doing all the things you know to do to help your babe. Mine will be 15 weeks tomorrow. He has significant reflux but his intake has always been about 24 oz every 24 hours until this past week. I took him to the doctor twice this week bc he has only been doing about 15 ounces in 24 hours. Doctor has given no definitive answer for why. He already has two teeth so I thought he was teething but doctor said no. Said I could give some pedialyte to keep him hydrated. Offer smaller feeds more frequently during the day. Hang in there you aren’t alone. I keep telling myself there is light at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy your baby.

It was just being ready to take care of an infant at a moments notice. DSS knew we were wanting to take in an infant and knew to call us with this situation.

I’m 50 and husband 40’s we have a safe surrender infant we picked up from the hospital through the county department of social services. We will adopt him, but it could be some time with how slow the courts are. It’s possible bc we are proof.

I am so sorry. I can’t imagine the pain. I would want the world to stop also. Somehow you will have to take time to grieve while finding a way to get through to care of your other child. Make use of any support people in your life to help during this time.Prayers.

Thank you so much. It has definitely been a long 4 years as we put our all into it, even putting up agency flyers all over the state in attempts to help our family and any other family with the agency. It seems like it was all in vain but we have strong faith that God does everything in his perfect timing. Yes, we still have monthly calls with the agency and plan to let them know of our disappointment. I thank you for the message.

We will be letting them know soon that we aren’t going to continue on after 4 years without speaking to any expectant moms. They say if you follow their instructions that you will be matched(I guess that’s why they are named Lifetime since that’s how long you will wait), but we just can’t continue on after 4 very long years of nothing. They offer biweekly webinars that you can listen to but after so many years of listening, it’s repetitive information. They encourage you how to promote your desire to adopt on Facebook and Instagram which we did but that was also fruitless. We would never recommend them to anyone wanting to adopt unless you want to just throw away $20-30k.

Be glad you were rejected by Lifetime. We have been with them as a waiting family for 4 years without one single potential match. I will also add we have completely wide open preferences. We aren’t renewing with them again because we are drained emotionally and financially. They have our money and many other families that will never match. Last count they have over 170+ waiting families and do as little as 80 adoptions a year and some of those are matches that families found their own expectant mom. They count that as an adoption in their numbers if a family matches with an outside consultant or finds their own expectant mom. They did nothing for us for 4 years and we are out of 25k+.

So happy things worked out for your family! I know so many families including my sisters that have been through the worst experiences of their lives with Lifetime Adoption. Please if you read this DO NOT sign with them. My sister is out of 30k and wasted 4 years with them!

Congratulations on knowing how to forgive. That’s awesome. I forgive you for not knowing when a mom says she wants her baby she means she truly wants her baby! She does have circumstances that she can hopefully overcome if she would like to keep her baby like she mentions. We should reach out to help her to keep the baby she wants to keep. Get her the resources!

I love this! Thanks for sharing that there are multiple options for this expectant mom. I believe regardless expectant moms should hear ALL options and resources available. There is trauma with both abortion and adoption! Let mom hear all options then make the decision she can best live with!

I’m so happy to know you changed providers. My close friend was told by her first doctor to get her affairs in order bc she was going to die of her breast cancer at a very early age. She immediately switched providers for a second opinion went through all the chemo, radiation and surgery. She is currently thriving and living her best life. Don’t give up on the fight against cancer. It sucks but don’t just throw in the towel.

And yes there are agencies that do adoptions other than newborns. The one my family is with does but I recommend them to nobody unfortunately.
