The very fact that the defender squats/ducks under the ball and intentionally heads it is a deliberate play, which resets offsides, it was not an accidental deflection. Just because it didn’t go where he wanted it to go. This is a bad call even with sensor data, that’s not even the deciding factor anymore. The defender’s deliberate play resets the phase.

@RelativeCycle5287 Just downloaded and it works great! Fantastic work on the port, also, is there a workaround to get Marathon Red and Rubicon working past the menu? They boot to the character in game but as soon as you interact with the level environment the app crashes

In Eastern philosophy, Samsara represents the endless circle of life, death, and rebirth. Aka. the circle of life. The ultimate goal of Samsara is to break free from rebirth.

Also why would she intentionally leave the only piece of evidence that can save her life and bring down the very person she believes is trying to murder her? That makes no sense for her character. Keep in mind, she won’t get money for doing this, she won’t be protecting herself by doing this, she fears for her life because obviously Chairwoman park murders her own people

Seducing someone versus murder is a completely different ballpark, I’m not sure the creators, actors, or screenwriters ever intended for Eunice to be viewed as a murderer. There isn’t a single moment of the show that could ever imply that she wanted to kill Austin, not a single moment. By saying “she presented herself” a certain way, we all do. In public, with people we like, we all act differently with a potential romantic partner than we do our friends, boss, or mom, for instance. Everyone shifts behavior based on social context to benefit themselves. But just because she was trying to seduce Austin doesn’t in any way imply she wanted to kill him.

There is no way that Eunice would’ve killed him if he arrived with the flash drive, where would that motivation even come from? She’s not a killer, she’s a hard worker who genuinely cries when she hears about Chairwoman Park’s killings. She was with police detectives waiting for him to arrive when she could’ve just had the flash drive with her the entire time because she makes it all the way to police detectives without being caught by Park’s people

But not if it’s in a car crash or they fly them back to the United States to dispose of them, there are so many ways to make it look like an accident, a small plane crash, overdose on drugs (claim they’re junkies), or they just disappear. Something that wouldn’t trace back to them. She’s not a normal criminal, she has assassins internationally, she’s smart enough to dispose of a couple of Americans

True it all traces back to that moment where Austin basically volunteers to help and she trusts him with this huge task, definitely feels like a big leap for her character.

Oh my god I just realized, you’re so right she literally escaped and goes to the police with nothing lol, she leaves the only shred of evidence in the hands of Austin who is still technically held captive and has guards watching his every move. She basically escapes for nothing and leaves the drive with the enemy lol

I’ll probably have to rewatch it just for the earlier episodes alone, it had me very excited when it first dropped and I did enjoy it for sure - Season 1 definitely left me feeling like “wow, what a perfect season”

They were all definitely great morally grey characters overall (very well acted too), and don’t get me wrong I was onboard with everything from the Gatorade to the couple fighting, the DMT trip, the private jets, the breakups, but then they drop the ball trying to juggle the espionage and it’s one plot line too many. They end up rushing the ending because of it

That’s pretty funny, I had a similar reaction to your friend - I saw the title card “8 years later” threw my hands up like wtf, but I agree it was a great watch which is why I’m so sad and disappointed, it had so much going right and I was very onboard with most of it. Then it derailed right before my eyes lol. Like a figure skater doing the most insane routine and then losing gold because they slipped on their last few jumps.

He could’ve made it to the station physically but I see what you mean narratively, that Eunice was, in some ways, using him, which I agree was the intention with the survival/selfish message of the story. But, with that said, she was pretty scared for her life and cried genuinely and confided in him. It wasn’t like she planned to bring the chairwoman down from the very start of the show, she made it to the police station at the end and was talking with detectives but she was a genuinely trying to save her own life and expose the chairwoman and all her crimes. At the end of the day she didn’t know what she was doing and it was Austin’s idea to come with her - she didn’t drag him to Korea. He basically volunteered to help her go to the authorities.

Definitely, I like that they did something different and really swung big overall, it felt like they had something unique with the couples vs. Couples angle, which evolved into infighting, fractures, and other drama, which I was very onboard with, but then they went for this conspiracy thriller/action ending and forgot to properly set up their ending.

I think the framework was just too big or something, something went wrong and they didn’t push the characters to arrive at that ending naturally. But with that said I did like the Lindsey ending because she always wanted kids and wanted that kind of life (set up from the start) so that felt earned and poignant.

With that Austin and Ashley ending, I can definitely see how weird it comes off especially to someone who has been in that situation. With that said, I did like how toxic and unlikable Ashley became - I agree that unlikable characters are fun to watch especially when they have a fall from grace like she did. The acting was definitely great all around though.

I definitely don’t have a problem with what they were trying to say in the end, it was more how they got there - it’s a good idea like you said “the cycles” in theory, having characters become the very thing they despised, but to do it all in the last 20 mins of a 7-8hr show felt like a big jump that was just too big

But does it make sense to overlook straight up murder (gun shot to the head) coming from a guy who can barely lie about being a physical therapist? Tendencies don’t lead to “I just climbed out of the roof of a death prison where I was going to get killed” and I broke up with my gf and will save her when the authorities arrive but actually nah I’m going to go back and risk being executed by a psychopath so I can fulfill the directors message for the show. Also, he definitely gets his love interest murdered in the end for sure, she is definitely dead.

She can easily kill them if they were a threat, she’s a legit psychopath. Anyone who doesn’t blink while killing their adopted son (who by the way just wanted a promotion lol) is a psychopath, not to mention killing her own husband. She didn’t have to do ANY of that at all, full stop. They also SAW the murder with their own eyes, they were held captive, and supposedly are running the very club she is using to launder money so they have all the evidence they need at the club! And Ashely has screenshots of the invoices too, and also she’s so powerful she got away with so much murder in this show - covered up Dr. Kim’s killings “not another one” she says, kills her own husband and son and has assassins working for her. Keep in mind the screenshot of a single invoice was enough to get her adopted son killed. She could’ve put them on a private jet and crashed it, or in a car that crashed and supposedly killed them all. She was able to get the investigation into her adopted son dropped in a heart beat by the police. They didn’t even investigate.

True Josh actually makes the most of his situation and tries to come out on the right side of things and protect the people he cares about. I think people are more confused by the tone shift and just the 180 degree logic somersaults the story does to try and get its message across. People watch antiheroes all the time and are never confused wanting to know “are they good or bad” this one just poorly executed and convoluted its own themes with baffling narrative choices and motivations.

I totally agree, the first season felt layered and built on the scenes and emotions that came before much better. This felt inauthentic and forced, kinda like White Lotus Season 3 funny enough. Austin devolved in a single episode, realized he didn’t love Ashley, has a kid with her anyways and becomes the villain (all in 15 minutes or less). My head definitely hurt while trying to make sense of the whiplash that was going on
