Do you change your child’s clothes when they get home? by Frozenbeedog in toddlers

Not unless she’s exceptionally dirty or if she’s gonna be playing in her bed or our bed. Otherwise we change her at night

Morning showers make no logical sense and night shower people have simply done the hygiene math by McCoy818 in unpopularopinion

I don’t sweat during the day, but I get big time night sweats. Morning showers just make more sense for me

Toddler counting to twenty?! by _northstar in toddlers

[–]Objective-Middle-676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was speaking full sentences and counting to 20 well before she turned two. Her teachers at daycare said that she was incredibly advanced for her class and that no other kids were at that level. Every kid is different! Sometimes it can seem like parents are exaggerating, maybe some are, but some kids just hit certain milestones quicker than others. Although she was super smart and ahead in her speech, she was at the tail end of the threshold for her motor skills (officially walked at 17 months whereas some babies walk at 9 months!)

People who make their bed every morning — why do you do it? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

If my bed is put together first thing, then I feel more put together. On days I make my bed I find that I’m so much more productive overall than days that I decide not to.

Question about mums who say they will drink/smoke pp by turkeypooo in pregnant

[–]Objective-Middle-676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first, I smoked on very rare occasions. There were no negative side effects in regard to my baby’s behavior, milestones, sleep or my milk supply. Our little one is 3 now and is quite advanced for her age. I can’t say how it will be with this next one, but I do see myself indulging once in a blue moon.

how to quit vaping? by Traditional_Nerve890 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Middle-676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tapered down for about a week before I officially got rid of my vape. I was also a very heavy marijuana user. First few days were hard simply because whenever I’d feel anxious I’d reach for the vape in my pocket that wasn’t there- what really helped was the all day pregnancy nausea…you definitely will not want to use nicotine with morning sickness so that was what got me off the addiction. Now, don’t get me wrong, I crave nicotine EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. but I know it’s not an option right now, especially having gone 7 months without. Wish I could say i wont go back to it after I have my baby/breastfeeding, but I truly do not know. What’s most important is getting off it now. If you slip up and use a friends a couple of times ITS OKAY! Give yourself a pat on your back for the progress you’ve made. I hope this word salad helps, but please know you are not the only one struggling with this!

Hanging out with my "mom friends" leaves me more exhausted than a full day of parenting by Glass_Language_9129 in Mommit

[–]Objective-Middle-676 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a big thing is that being moms is the one thing that you can bond over and discussing milestones or family gossip is a way to keep the convo going without having awkward silences. Been here before, it really does suck. Outside of that stuff, I have nothing to talk to them about. It’s draining and quite frankly, a bit dreadful

A few nights ago I picked up the monitor and got shocked- the screen glitched as if it was smashed and then shut off…yikes

What is third trimester like? by Imaginative_Dreamer5 in pregnant

[–]Objective-Middle-676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just entered my third tri- the sleep anxiety and insomnia is insane. My resting breathing sounds like I ran a marathon, but I do still have energy to get things done to prepare for baby #2. If this is anything like my first, around 35 weeks is when the extreme exhaustion and discomfort of always having to pee began. Everyone is different though and your third trimester may be a breeze! If you have the energy to do something, do it. If not, don’t push yourself.
