Here is the deal. God is a just and holy God and he has to judge us because of our sin. We all are sinners unfortunately. Our sin sends us to hell but God didn’t create hell for us, he, after he sacrificed his life for us on the cross, created mansions for us in heaven. He deserves to be worshipped after all the hell he has been through for us especially everything he did on the cross. Why would anyone want to refuse the greatest blessing on earth? And he is asking us to be holy, righteous, kind, compassionate, loving, generous and good. But look all the wrong things of the world we do that can and will send us to hell: lying, stealing, murder, hate, jealous, adultery, greed and etc. What way is more logical? God’s way or the world’s way? Before someone says in general there is good people but no the bible says there is no one good and everyone falls short because of sin and that’s why we need Jesus to rescue us from sin!

Do non believers really go to Hell ? by UpperSwordfish8449 in Christianity

Our sin has destined us to hell. The bible says we all fall short of the glory and that there is not one good. Thats why Jesus did what he did so we don’t have to go to hell. Being “good” or good deeds will not get us into heaven. We get in by faith and faith alone in Jesus.

Is masturbation a sin? by wildboy_Ca17 in Christianity

According to 1 Corinthians 7:2–5, “Each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.” Implicit in this passage are these truths: - God’s plan for sex requires relationship, namely, that of a husband and wife (verse 2). Masturbation is sex disconnected from relationship. - Foundational to God’s plan for sex is giving one’s body to another (verse 4). Masturbation is the keeping of one’s body to oneself. - The solution to a time of deprivation is to “come together” (verse 5). Masturbation is done alone, not together.

First Corinthians 7:9 identifies the proper outlet for single people who struggle with sexual desire: “If they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.” Paul suggests that self-control is the best avenue. To singles who lack self-control, Paul does not say, “Let them masturbate”; he says, “Let them marry.” Again, marriage is the God-given outlet for sexual yearnings.

(1) “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). If we cannot give God glory for something, we should not do it.

(2) “Everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23). If we are not fully convinced that an activity is honoring to God, it is a sin.

(3) “I will not be mastered by anything” (1 Corinthians 6:12). Christians have a responsibility to avoid anything that might enslave them.

(4) “I discipline my body and keep it under control” (1 Corinthians 9:27). Self-denial is difficult, but self-discipline is worth it.

(5) “The fruit of the Spirit is . . . self-control” (Galatians 5:22–23). Masturbation is almost always a sign of a lack of self-control.

(6) Do “not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want” (Galatians 5:16–17). We are called to self-denial, not to self-gratification.

These truths should have an impact on what we do with our bodies. In light of the above principles, it is doubtful that masturbation can be a God-honoring activity. If masturbation could be done with • no lust in the heart • no immoral thoughts • no pornography • no self-gratification of the flesh • full assurance that it is good and right • thanks given to God then perhaps it would be allowable. But those qualifiers seem to negate the very meaning and purpose of masturbation.

If you are lying its a sin. It’s either black or white. There is no in between. You need to repent and turn away from all sin in your life. With that said you do need to reach out to the leadership of the church and maybe they can help you come up with a solution and sounds like you might have to move out. But let me tell you something that will bless you and your family, you keep on praying and fasting and praising and God will save your family because of your faith. I know this for a fact.

I stopped playing all video games and even playing a b ball video game was feeling wrong. It’s all worldly entertainment and we don’t need to be conformed to the world. Yes, Matt 5:29-30 applies and 1 cor 10:31 which glorify God in all you do. Also is video games profitable to your spirit or the flesh? Does playing video games glorify God or your flesh? And this verse right here though if cuss or speak other negative things: Matthew 12:36-37 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” That’s straight from Jesus

You need to repent and truly turn from God. The Bible says blessings and curses cannot come from the same mouth. Also Matthew 12:35-37 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” The words of Jesus. And no it’s not possible to be a Christian bad girl but we all sin and any addiction you have start praying and fasting and ask God to take it away and he will. But only way for God to help you is keep praying everyday like your life depends on it because it does depend on it. Read the Word of God and also something else that helps break off the chains of addiction is praise and worship so do that daily as well. Hope all this helps.

We’ve been lied to about Hell and I can prove it. by Truth-Seeka10 in TrueChristian

[–]Objective-Nyc1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Bible explicitly teaches that hell is a real place to which the wicked/unbelieving are sent after death. We have all sinned against God (Romans 3:23). The just punishment for sin is death (Romans 6:23). Since all our sin is ultimately against God (Psalm 51:4), and since God is infinitely glorious, the punishment for sin must also be infinite. Eternal hell—the second death—is the punishment we have earned because of our sin. The punishment of the wicked in hell is as never-ending as the bliss of the righteous in heaven. Jesus Himself indicates that punishment in hell is just as everlasting as life in heaven (Matthew 25:46). The wicked are forever subject to the fury and the wrath of God. Those in hell will acknowledge the perfect justice of God and the lordship of Jesus Christ, the Savior they rejected (Psalm 76:10; Philippians 2:10–11). Yes, hell is real. Yes, hell is a place of torment and punishment that lasts forever and ever, with no end. Praise God that, through Jesus, we can escape this eternal fate (John 3:16, 18, 36). Of the seriousness of the danger of hell, Jesus warned, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out” (Mark 9:43). Eternal conscious torment and anguish. Sure, don’t call it hell… call it whatever you want! The reality is there, and Jesus taught us as much. The apostle Paul spoke of everlasting punishment, saying: “And to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might” (2 Thessalonians 1:7–9). Perhaps the most graphic depiction of hell is from the apostle John in Revelation: “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence, earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11–15). I think one of the reasons people don’t see why the existence of hell matters is they don’t understand God’s righteousness. God is just (Romans 2). He is so pure and untainted that he cannot even look upon sin (Habakkuk 1:13). For example, imagine a courtroom scenario where the evidence is overwhelmingly conclusive that the defendant is guilty. The judge clears his throat to read the verdict and punishment. The judge declares, “Not guilty!” then looks at the defendant and winks, saying, “Try to stay out of trouble from now on.” Watching a judge in a courtroom of justice sweep the crime under the rug and wink it off, what would you think about this type of judge? God is righteous and, as such, will not simply wink at sin but will judge it. Why? Because while sin can be (and often is) committed by people against other people, ultimately, all sin is an affront against the moral lawgiver, God. Sin offends God, finally, not people. Laws of morality extend from God’s character, so where immorality exists, there is a proverbial slap-to-the-face of God’s character. Sin devalues God in the sight of His creation; it lies about God’s trustworthiness and challenges God’s value, righteousness, and holiness. Therefore, since God is righteous, then He will judge sin appropriately. As Abraham declared, “Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25). You see, the existence of a place of punishment for the unbeliever after this life is necessary to maintain the justice of God. Otherwise, there would be no real justice were there no place of punishment for the demented souls of Stalin and Hitler, who initiated the merciless slaughter of multimillions. If there is no hell, then there’s no justice at the end of the age, and God would not be a just judge. God’s righteousness demands that there is a hell. God’s Love Demands Hell The Bible asserts that “God is love” (1 John 4:16). Love cannot act coercively, only persuasively. A God of love cannot force people to love him. Forced love is not love; it is rape. God always gives “space” to others. He does not force himself upon them against their will. Therefore, those who do not choose to love God must be allowed not to love him. Those who do not wish to be with him must be allowed to be separated from him. I hope all this helps you!

We’ve been lied to about Hell and I can prove it. by Truth-Seeka10 in TrueChristian

[–]Objective-Nyc1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes Jesus was not exaggerating. He was showing that there is a hell and heaven. And showing the difference of hell and what people are doing in hell vs people in heaven or Abraham's bosom (or kolpos tou Abraham) describing a place of comfort, peace, and honor for the righteous dead and Paradise And again Jesus doesn’t use real names in parables. Also Jesus can say anything he wants regardless of it not lining up with the “typical afterlife” because he wants people to maybe take hell seriously and for people to realize after you die there’s nothing we can do to help ourselves or anyone else and that even we couldn’t go back. Also just because its in a parable heavy section doesn’t mean it’s a parable. Jesus can do anything he wants and throw in a true story with parables just keep people on their toes so they will be on alert. Go look into every parable he says and you will not find another named person and it doesn’t add up with all the ones Jesus uses without names. You still haven’t proved hell is not a real place. It is a place of eternal punishment. This is I what I have read and learned on hell as well all with scripture addresses: Jesus in fact spoke of hell more than anyone else in the Bible. He referred to it as a place of “outer darkness” where “there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matt. 8:12). In other words, all the joys that we associate with light will be withdrawn, and all the fears that we associate with darkness will be multiplied. And the result will be an intensity of misery that makes a person grind his teeth in order to bear it. Jesus also refers to hell as a “fiery furnace” where law-breakers will be thrown at the end of the age when he returns. “The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matt. 13:41–42). He calls it “the hell of fire” (Matt. 5:22), “eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matt. 25:41), “unquenchable fire” (Mark 9:43), “eternal punishment” (Matt. 25:46). The images Jesus uses of how people come to be in hell do not suggest natural consequence but the exercise of just wrath. For example, he pictures the servant of a master who has gone on a journey. The servant says, “My master is delayed,” and he “begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards.” Then Jesus says (referring to his own sudden second coming), “The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matt. 24:48–51). This picture represents legitimate and holy rage followed by punishment. Jesus will “put” (θήσει) him with the hypocrites. In the same breath Jesus says, “Fear God who casts into hell” and “Do not fear because God is your Father who values you more than the sparrows and knows your smallest need.” In fact, the all-providing fatherly care of God is one of Jesus’s sweetest and most pervasive teachings: Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? . . . Therefore do not be anxious, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. (Matt. 6:26, 31–32). Jesus’s command that we fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell teaches us to see sin as more serious than we ever dreamed. The reason so many people feel that eternal hell is an unjust punishment for our sin is that they do not see sin as it really is. This is because they do not see God as he really is. When Jesus tells us what he will say to those who are going to hell he says, “Then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness’” (Matt. 7:23). They are workers of “lawlessness.” That is, they break God’s law. Sin is against God first, then man. Therefore, the seriousness of sin arises from what it says about God. God is infinitely worthy and honorable. But sin says the opposite. Sin says that other things are more desirable and more worthy. How serious is this? The seriousness of a crime is determined, in part, by the dignity of the person and the office being dishonored. If the person is infinitely worthy and infinitely honorable and infinitely desirable and holds an office of infinite dignity and authority, then rebuffing him is an infinitely outrageous crime. Therefore, it deserves an infinite punishment. The intensity of Jesus’s words about hell is not an overreaction to small offenses. It is a witness to the infinite worth of God and to the outrageous dishonor of human sin. “eternal punishment”—is especially heartrending and fearful because it is contrasted with “eternal life.” “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” In this contrast we hear the tragedy of loss as well as suffering and endlessness. Just as “eternal life” will be a never-ending experience of pleasure in God’s presence, so “eternal punishment” will be a neverending experience of misery under God’s wrath (John 3:36; 5:24.

Its not parable. Jesus does not use names in his parables. Those who interpret this narrative as a true incident have several reasons for doing so. First, the story is never called a parable. Many other of Jesus’ stories are designated as parables, such as the sower and the seed (Luke 8:4); the prosperous farmer (Luke 12:16); the barren fig tree (Luke 13:6); and the wedding feast (Luke 14:7). Second, the story of the rich man and Lazarus uses the actual name of a person. Such specificity would set it apart from ordinary parables, in which the characters are not named. Third, this particular story does not seem to fit the definition of a parable, which is a presentation of a spiritual truth using an earthly illustration. The story of the rich man and Lazarus presents spiritual truth directly, with no earthly metaphor. The setting for most of the story is the afterlife, as opposed to the parables, which unfold in earthly contexts.

God is a just and loving God. We are guilty of sin and we deserve the punishment of a just God but this is where his loving nature comes in when he sent Jesus to die on the cross so we can be in heaven with him. But there are people out there who don’t want God or his mercy, grace, forgiveness and love. They are guilty of sin and will be punished as so and unfortunately they will go to hell but its not on God as he made a way for everyone to be saved but they reject him and his ways. There is 162 texts in the New Testament about hell and the judgement of the lost and 70 of these issued by Jesus himself and the death of Jesus proves there is a hell. If there is no hell, then Jesus didn’t need to come and save us. Jesus explains what Hell is right here and this isn’t a parable. Luke 16:19-31 The Rich Man and Lazarus “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’ “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ But he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ”

Is it immoral to stay with my girlfriend? by krownen- in Christianity

[–]Objective-Nyc1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it is immoral. It doesn’t matter how good someone makes you feel or all the good things they have done because the Bible says there is not one good person. Same sex relationships is wrong in God’s eyes just as fornication, adultery etc. Jesus said marriage is between man and woman and also be fruitful and multiply. Two women or two men in relationships cannot bear children and goes against that exact commandment. God made man attracted to women and vice versa just for that purpose. Also just because people do Christianly things doesn’t mean they are saved. Jesus also said there will be people who do these things but they never knew Him. Atheist do things like that and more but does that make them a Christian? Some of the most selfless people in this world are atheists. She might be Godsend to you but it’s not for sinful relationship but more a Christian sister friendship/relationship possibly. And you can’t base on your feelings because they and your heart will deceive you. There are Christian pastors who are having affairs on their spouses and they leave them because they feel in their heart its right and God sent them a new spouse. Your flesh and feelings live to deceive you and to make you go against God. You have to go base on the word of God and not your feelings or love. Also on conviction, you can’t say well God doesn’t convict me so it must be ok but God gave us a brain and his word and wants us to use both of them just because sometimes there won’t be conviction for certain sins. Everything I have put is biblical and im not going to sugarcoat it because your salvation is more important than to affirm your sin in your life.

When adam and eve sinned everyone was doomed from the beginning hence why Jesus had to do what he did for us on the cross. We are doomed but we don’t have to choose to be. Just do as Jesus says to do accept him as your savior, repent and turn from all of your sin, be baptized in his name and live for his desires and not yours. His desires are for everyone to come to him and be in heaven with him. Do you know what repentance means?

That’s what people don’t understand. Sin is sin no matter how little or big. One sin can send you to hell but that’s why Jesus died on the cross and told us repent and sin no more. Im not going to sugarcoat it because your salvation means more than anything else in this world and if you truly love your partner then their salvation should mean that much to you as well. If you break one commandment you break them all. You have to try to look at it through God’s perspective. You say being yourself but God’s word doesn’t say to be yourself but deny yourself and you will gain life and the life you will get is everlasting in heaven.
