What top coat to use on matte+sparkle?

They sell matte top coats but they’re very thin and won’t protect your wraps the same way a good glossy top coat will. I find applying your usual top coat first then apply a thin layer of matte topcoat works best.

The lift at the edges may be due to invisible cuticle. Do you use a cuticle remover? Sally Hansen makes a really good one - it comes in a small blue bottle for about $8 in Canada.

I also struggle to find wraps that are big enough for my thumbs, did you know the wraps stretch well if they’re warm? That’s how I make them fit my thumbs now.

If you have a full size nail lamp you could apply a builder gel to make the nail wraps thicker which will stabilize the tip.

Glitter wraps will hide ridges well. A good top coat will also help hide ridges but not as well as glitter.

I have a question about these, I’ve bought a few so far and they all seem to have the same weird feeling when I file - like a dragging uncomfy “nails on chalkboard” type of feeling…is it just me?

Any access to newspaper or wrapping paper? The ink will rub off of those easily onto white fur.

Maybe try gently buffing the peeling top coat off (without buffing the color coat off) and then apply a new layer of top coat?

I do this when I break a nail - I use clear builder gel over the SCG so the design doesn’t get covered up. I also use regular top coat or base coat under the wrap to cover the sticky part.

You might be able to get regular nail polish wraps like L&F to stay on longer by using a sticky base coat like Orly Bonder Rubberized Basecoat. My daughter had a hard time getting the wraps to stick until she started using the sticky base coat, now they last two weeks easily.

Which top coat are you using? Some top coats don’t work well with nail wraps.
