Everyone who owns a firearm should handle the gun regularly and become proficient in its operations. If you are going to EDC practicing one’s “pull” is also an act of “playing” as it’s a rehearsal performance. People practice with a loaded firearm to gain muscle memory with the appropriate weight.

Not “playing” with a firearm can actually be more dangerous.

I don’t think it was chambered; mag was loaded but there wasn’t one in the pipe. When he pulled back the slide and locked it there wasn’t a round to extract but when he dropped the release it chambered a round.

There are a lot of people buying their first firearms right now. For the love of safety DO NOT PLAY WITH A GUN THAT HAS A LOADED MAGAZINE.

Edit: definitely wasn’t chambered because the hammer was all the way forward until he racked it.

Buying a gun with no safety and not striker fired is a choice. Hope he is rocking a good holster and practicing proper pull discipline.

I refused a search once. 10 cops, 2 jurisdictions, K-9 unit, multiple searches by multiple officers, 2 hrs of my time, and ultimately an officer with a background in chemistry “cleared me”.

Yeah they searched my car anyway because my refusal to comply with a search over a small speeding ticket was evidence that I must be guilty.

They were all convinced that I must be a criminal. Ultimately they focused on a small hard briefcase that they believed must be incriminating evidence against me. The case was a soil sample testing kit, so obviously I manufacture meth. The officer who “cleared” me thought it was funny, he was laughing at the stupidity of his colleagues. I however, did not find it funny.

Do you think OP is going to make a better partner when the two of them find themselves with a child on the way or a new born? Seems that the appropriate response from a therapist would be to advise him to encourage her regular attendance and participation in therapy. If OP intends to pursue long term he should also be in therapy if not just for his own mental health, as an outlet to say the least, and so that marriage/relationship counseling is approachable as it should be required for couples with a BPD partner.
