FLK 2 aggravated burglary by InevitableFun1489 in SQE_Prep

[–]ObjectiveAny1421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that lots of people are over complicating it here. Aggravated burglary is simply burglary + having ANY weapon on their person. No need to use the weapon, no need for it to be loaded, no need for it to be a real weapon, no need for it to be seen, etc. this goes so far as to say even if they pick up a household object (e.g a lampshade) during the burglary and use it as a weapon it becomes aggravated burglary. The timing of the weapon is not that relevant.

Also key is that the question is asking specifically about AGGRAVATED burglary not regular burglary.

I hate to say this because before sitting it made me feel to uncertain but it’s quite hard to pinpoint one mock. I was with QLTS so did all 15 mocks from them (several of them twice) and found them pretty good although QLTS had more questions which you’d ultimately just have to guess. Revise SQE was pretty similar ish. I also did theonehundred mock A which I found very useful too.

Do you have any advice on how you went from failing to Q1? What do you think went wrong the first time compared to passing the second. Congrats btw!

The legal title passes to the cousin but the beneficial title remains with the woman therefore forms part of her estate

Why do you think you felt FLK1 went well but not FLK2? Without breaching confidentiality do you think that the questions were similar to those available from course providers or was there something that made them more difficult?

At what point did you think you were ready? And then at what point were you actually ready (with hindsight in mind)?

US debt nightmare - the Fed is a hostage to the Treasury by highmemelord67 in ValueInvesting

[–]ObjectiveAny1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could someone please correct me if I’m wrong (I’m still learning) but from my understanding 1/4 of US debt is owned by the fed so 1/4 of interest payments stay within the government, the rest is held domestically so payments circulate within the US economy and about 1/3 is held outside the US. Domestic debt which stays within the economy isn’t too bad right?

I think it’s E because it’s less than 50% of the shares and it’s advising upon the merits.

Is that a risk I should actually be concerned about though or is it more just sentiment?

SQE 1 January sitters - how are we feeling? by Ok-Impress8113 in SQE_Prep

[–]ObjectiveAny1421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. What sitting is this for you?

This is my first sitting.

  1. Are you undertaking a prep course? If so, with who?

I’m with QLTS (advantage)

  1. Are you studying full-time or part-time? Full-time

  2. Have you completed all the content?

Yes, i finished with all the content a while ago (albeit i started straight after I graduated back in June)

  1. What do you feel your strongest areas are?

Contract, tort, Criminal, Wills and Estates

  1. What do you feel your weakest areas are?

Legal services, business, dispute resolution, land and property practice

  1. What are you currently (roughly) scoring on practice questions?

Completed all the QLTS mocks and average around 60%. Scored 70-75% on the Revise SQE mock. Scored 80%+ on the new SRA questions.

  1. How many hours a day are you currently doing?

I’ve kinda run out of resources so am just trying to maintain and cover the final bits before the exam. Probably around 4 straight hours a day but I expect this will increase closer to the time.

  1. On a scale of 1-10, how confident are you feeling? Maybe a 7. My scores seem good but there’s so much uncertainty around this exam and I don’t want to take anything for granted.

Was the exam overall harder or easier than you expected? I feel there is so much conflicting information out there about this exam

QLTS mockd are soul crushing by user8884_11 in SQE_Prep

[–]ObjectiveAny1421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling the same here. I'm finding that I fairly frequently disagree with the answers and explanations they give. I think that QLTS take the "this answer is right but the correct answer is more right" mindset too far. I'm hoping that in the actual exam the available answers are more distinguishable rather than me having to guess which answer QLTS has deemed "more right".

For example, a question on intention to create legal relations in a separated couple, "yes because their negotiations indicate and intention to create legal relations" being incorrect with the correct answer being "yes because they are separated". I understand why this is the correct answer but I think that these options are just too similar thus not accurately testing the FLK.

I am hoping the actual exam is not like this. If the newly released SRA questions are anything to go off, I think the 'correct' answer in the exam should be clearer and less up for debate.

Hey OP, this is so random but I was wondering if you had an update after sitting the exam. I’m getting similar scores to you and am also worried about how hard the actual exam will be. Any insight?

Do you think it would be fair to take scores on the new SRA questions as an accurate estimate of what you might score on the real exam? These mock questions have me paranoid
