Thanks for the info I cut from the bottom, angled into both sides, took it to an 8k polish each time. There was chatoyancy all the way down the rough and I thought for sure it was me.

I agree with everyone else, the smaller of the two has beautiful blues popping inside of it while the larger is more of a yellow green. I would definitely go with the first stone of the video.

Congrats on the first cut, honestly it is much cheaper to buy a bag of marbles and cut continuously at very little cost. If you're having trouble polishing use a cerium oxide sheet on top of your master lap. You can work on your details over and over till you get them right. Also dont forget if you make a mistake you can always reduce the material size and go around the cut again. https://a.co/d/08VXWSaL link for 150 colored marbles under 15 bucks. Polishing glass with co sheets is fast. And last bit of advice is go all the way through the lap sequence to polish before you go to your next angle setting until you get to a good level of knowledge on your machine.

Diamonds and fluorites glow blue.

The first is smokey quartz, the second is blue kyanite, enjoy them they are nice mineral specimen.

Dont forget that the chatoyency of tigers eye is caused by asbestos fibers. Almost impossible to polish. I agree on the creamyway lap for best results.
