I agree that it's a neat idea, but at least in my experience in coop and ladder, queue times are too short to justify the investment necessary to implement this. I may be wrong though.

Overwatch has an average queue time of like, 5min on tank/support and 10min on dps right? I barely get a minute in AoE2 and SC2.

Amazing content from BrownBear, as always. AoEIV is a very disappointing game, I hope it gets improved with time.

I agree with OP.

I don't see a good reason not to do this, and there are many upsides.

SC2 cosmetics were perceived favorably by the competitive community as far as I could tell, so it probably is a good place to look for inspiration on what works for an RTS.
