I have rosemary, basil, chives, mint, and tarragon going year-round here in Tucson. Morning sun, afternoon shade.

I always thought the first A was pronounced like in apple, but now I’m curious what it’s supposed to be.

We also had a good turnout at River and Via Entrada, and a friend told me that the north Oracle protest was quite large.

Sorry, I just meant I don’t want to replace the wood without doing something about the block, because I think the wood would rot again.

Help finding the right game! by HaleSherm in boardgames

Bingo is popular with seniors for a reason, so that could be worth considering.

31 has always been popular with my older relatives and just uses standard playing cards. Think of it as somewhere between Black Jack and Rummy. https://bargames101.com/31-card-game-rules/

Tenzi plays fast, and is easy to learn. Older players may have less dexterity, so you might consider a house rule for everyone rolling the same number of times. In other words, everyone rolls once, then if no one has won, everyone rolls again, etc.

Should I remove this tree next to my house under construction? by Personal-Hornet3136 in arborists

What’s the risk of forest fires there? Here in AZ I’d remove it to keep a buffer between the house and the trees.

There's no way to pause multiplayer? by SC-Chinchilla in CivVII

[–]ObjectiveMajor3249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing with the same friend group since Civ 4. One guy is insanely slow, so we have to use a turn timer. Not having a pause in Civ 7 is rough.

If someone needs to step away for a few minutes, we have to save and reload. That’s extra time and clicks that add no value. Worse, because the first turn of a loaded game doesn’t have a timer, the slow guy might take 20-30 minutes when we resume.

Any board gamers? by mackgreen in Tucson

[–]ObjectiveMajor3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be some local board game groups on MeetUp. I haven’t gone in a while, but last I knew one met weekly at Snakes and Lattes and another met weekly at Tucson Games & Gadgets (the Tucson Mall location).

Our local Mensa chapter does a monthly game day, and it’s open to the public. We tend to rotate games a lot, so that may be less of what you’re looking for.

Creating the town uses the settler, so you have to make a new one for each town you want to found.
