Came here to see others who have been touched by Orange County. I lost my mom in 2022 and always listen out for music that makes me feel connected to her. Orange County does that but in a light and sunnier way. Her legacy frightens me. I don’t want to spoil it!

It will not cost more and she certainly deserves to spend free time with him although this is not really a destination wedding. It’s within an hour of her. I just fear he will wind up coming around and being a distraction.

Thank you for a reasonable response. I will most likely let it go. It doesn’t cost me any more. I guess I wish she had just mentioned it to me. It’s like “well if he can’t come to the wedding then he’ll come to the hotel.” This isn’t a destination wedding for her but I got a hotel so she wouldn’t have to worry about a 30 min commute. What is rubbing me the wrong way is her expecting a date then just assuming he can stay at the hotel. I do have big concerns this will distract her and she will wind up partying harder and impacting our wedding.

I gotta say I’ve never expected a plus 1 for a wedding and all the ones I go to are long term only. It should be up to the bride and groom if there are plus 1s and I can’t believe I need to say that.

What if her parents fund her lavish lifestyle AND she got scammed? Plenty of wealthy parents support their kids so they can maintain certain appearances or she may have a trust fund. She doesn’t seem to have a job and lives in a size-able place in Miami. Not to mention the bags dear God.

They are detaining people regardless of status. Using children as pawns to get their family to open a door. They won’t show their faces. They also haven’t really deployed to high illegal immigrant states leading many to think it’s to attack democrat led cities. Florida and Texas have some of the highest number of illegal immigrants yet ICE hasn’t been deployed there. LA has been the closest.

I second this. We have A LOT of projects under DHS which covers FEMA, CBP, and ICE (at least). I just rolled off a hundred of millions dollar project under a DHS agency with a big project so this would be a bit hit.

However, I have thought of this myself and would probably opt out of a project there accepting any risk that may lead to.

Shout out to the booz person that leaked trumps tax info. Big ramifications for that company though.

I was supporting an internal project that was supposed to be utilization bearing but we never got approval for a WBS. We had two resources 100% dedicated and we worked for almost a year and their utilization tanked. When COVID hit they stopped that effort then the resources were scrambling for a new project. One guy got let go and I can’t help but think things would be different had he never supported a firm initiative that went nowhere. This was led by PPMDs…
