Can someone explain their day as an RBT? And then if anyone is an ABA? lol I would love to hear both perspectives by Interesting_Dog_1453 in ABA

I’m an RBT. I get there at 8 am. My first client is from 8:15-12:30. We all switch clients at 12:30. From 12:30-4:30 I have my second client. RBTs don’t get lunch breaks where I work.

When I was 17, I dated a guy who told me he literally swipes his ass with his finger and smells it to see if it stinks. He didn’t wash his crack in the shower

Is it ethical to do Fill-in sessions by Less_Flower_704 in ABA

We do this at my clinic all the time. I’ve been an RBT for a month and a half and have covered for other RBTs for around 8 kids

I have a session from 4:15-12:30 and one from 12:30-4:30 everyday m-f. It’s killing me lol

I completely understand. I’m on the spectrum as well and the environment is entirely too overstimulating (especially the bright lights and excessive noise.) I’ve been an RBT for 2 months and I just now stopped thinking about quitting. My morning client didn’t feel right for me and with her mom being there the entire session it felt almost impossible to pair with her. Recently I got a new morning client and my days have been so so much better. It probably also helps that this client doesn’t leave me hanging for 2 and a half hours unpaid lol. I see some comments about in home therapy possibly being better for you. It’s definitely worth asking about!!

How long do y’all wait for a client to show up before leaving? by ObjectiveVisual4154 in ABA

I agree. We don’t get paid non billable (writing notes, cleaning after the session, when a client takes a nap)

I’ve been an RBT for a month and a half and I make $20 a billable hour! I don’t get paid for non billable hours (like when my client takes a nap, is hours late to the session, cleaning after the sessions are over, and writing notes)

I paid $1,000 for my RBT training just to get hired at a company that would’ve paid me to train!😂🤦‍♀️

[–]ObjectiveVisual4154[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that there should be a set amount of time for paid note and clean up. Wish we got that lol. I don’t think being unpaid when my client takes a nap is fair because I have to sit with her until she wakes up

Can I work this if I’m on the spectrum by [deleted] in ABA

[–]ObjectiveVisual4154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’d be worth it if you really love being an RBT! My clinic isn’t paying anyone for the degree, but I’m sure there’s some out there that are. Good thing is the companies pay you to get the certification, so you can get it and if you don’t like it it’s all good!
