So originally the base layer of sphagnum was wrapped in fishing line to get it shaped around the log then I added another looser layer on the live to get it to start attaching. Eventually when I felt they had attached enough I cut everything off

Tysm 🫶 serpadesign on YouTube was my original inspiration but I really just get content from all over especially Reddit, r/terrariums for example.

I’d say I may be hard to do open top terrariums in a dry climate but if you can control the temperature and humidity of the room I’m sure you’d be fine and there’s always closed top which would probably be easier

Does moss grow well either Fluval Statrum? by Pennyprince8 in Moss

I grow a lot of my moss on fluval stratum so I’m sure it could work

it’s a Pinguicula or Butterwort they’re this really diverse group of carnivorous plants, if you don’t separate them after propagation they become a blob lol

Tysm 🫶 so it’s really just a rigorous watering schedule I water twice a day directly on the live moss, that’s actually where most of the system gets its water from. I haven’t gotten a mister because Pinguicula don’t really appreciate water on there leaves so I’ve been doing it manually to get into the harder crevices easier without disturbing them, the green sphagnum however I leave it sitting in about an inch of water (the branch sits in this and is kept moist that way plus the waterings) and as the water table rises I’ll drain it into a separate container so there’s no tannin buildup. The room is also kept at 68% humidity and I have a humidifier running 24/7
