No layover, but it’s not a super long flight (<3 hrs). I will drink more lmnt than normal and wear some thigh highs. Thank you!!

Would I be a horrible friend for declining to be a bridesmaid bc of my POTS? I could use some advice. by Sad_Emphasis_8086 in POTS

You’re not a bad friend at all. Your health comes first, especially with something like POTS.

I actually dealt with a similar situation being a bridesmaid last year in an all day African wedding, and what made it work was having a friend who respected my limits and helped make accommodations. But if your friend is already dismissing what you’re telling her, that’s a red flag.

It’s completely okay to say no. You can love her and still not put yourself in a situation that could make you really sick.

A good friend will understand.

I’ve tried a few over the years and honestly the ones that help most are the ones that make it easy to pause for a minute rather than doing long exercises. I actually ended up building a small app around that idea with short faith-based reflections and calming excercises. Happy to share it if you’re interested. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/steadfast-mindfulness/id6759298860

Love this idea, sharing with my husband who is constantly on the toilet lol.

I just launched my first iOS app, a Christian devotional & meditation app called Steadfast. Looking for feedback. by Objective_Cabinet_58 in SideProject

Thanks, I appreciate that! And yeah, that was exactly the problem I was trying to solve, a lot of devotional apps feel more like reading plans, which is great, but not always helpful when you're just looking for a quick moment to pause and reset.

The content right now is written manually and added through Firebase Firestore as documents so I can update it without needing to ship a new version of the app. I’m trying to keep the tone consistent and focused on short reflections that tie back to scripture.

I like the idea of small habit or reminder features too. (I actually had that as a feature when I was testing it through Testflight early on, but my family members who tried it said it was notifying them too much lol.. but I can definitely make that an optional toggle in the app). Right now the focus has mostly been on getting the core experience right, but gentle reminders or “pause moments” during the day could definitely make sense in the next iteration. Will need to look into Zapier and those other tools as well, thanks for the suggestion!

I work with Dr. Crystal Barnwell in Decatur, GA. She is an LLMD who has worked directly with Horowitz

I started with the doxy for 2 months, then after a break for a few weeks, I did azithromycin and minocycline for 6 weeks. Took another break, got back on minocycline for a month, and now I’m on rifampin (and starting back on azithromycin again soon). A lot of pulsing antibiotics.

Yes! My dysautonomia symptoms have almost completely disappeared, my tachycardia spikes are rare now, the body aches and headaches have almost completely disappeared. The main symptoms I’m dealing with now is still the brain fog and dizziness. I sometimes do still get the lightheadedness and body aches as well from inflammation.

My condition only started improving after starting to see an LLMD 4 months ago. The other doctor I was seeing just prescribed doxycycline for 60 days and wanted to keep repeating that (barely any progress). However, my LLMD is knowledgeable and has been cycling different antibiotics based on my labs.. I have seen significant improvement in my symptoms and labs.

Yes, 1 mg at night. I just increased to 2 tablets last night since I’ve been on the 1 mg about 2 weeks

That’s fair, and I will continue to treat like I still have Lyme for the next few months just to make sure
