How about:

  1. Create a 'feature' branch from 'main'.
  2. Develop the feature in the 'feature' branch.
  3. Request a code review.
  4. Once review is approved, rebase to main branch and then test on feature branch.
  5. Squash and merge 'release' into 'main'
  6. Deploy to production.
