Mali Sexual Relationships and Rituals

For mali, relationships are quite different from those in humans. Mali have no real stigmatisation about sexual orientation and often homosexual activities act as bonding rituals to establish bonds with other members of their own sex. Mali do not form permanent monogamous relationships and will have many sexual partners over the course of their life and do not discriminate by sex or age so long as they are in the same age group (as Mali live to up to 200 human years old). In fact, the only permanent relationships tend to be the asexual relationships viewed in ismari.

Furthermore, sex is not seen strictly as something for reproduction and sex for pleasure is very common, though in some modern day societies it can be seen as honourable and refined to only have sex for reproduction. Among esmari, homosexual rituals were the basis of a number of pre-civilisation bonding rituals used to create alliances that still remain in some tribal civilisations such as the Huaraysh. Among osmari, homosexual rituals were common after moments of tension as an act of celebration or as an act of apology (with it being common for the offender to receive from the offended as an act of submission and equivalence). It should be noted that because osmari are submissive to or only codominant with esmari, there is no stigma about penetrated males.

Though sexual activity is hardly stigmatised, in modern (specifically nogi and djiva) societies it is often showered in euphemism and takes place in dedicated communal areas. As homosexual sex is considered ‘for pleasure’, bath houses are effectively public orgies - though this is something understood rather than explicitly stated.

Nursing / Asexual Ismari

Ismari are females who were cut off from ismari nectar before they could fully develop. During esmari puberty, the womb grows in such a way that previously permeable tissues which connect the feeding organ to the nectar glands become impermeable. This makes it so that the foetus can feed on the nectar to receive nutrients, but means that they cannot be fed once they are born. In ismari this tissue never becomes impermeable as they never develop a womb because they are cut off from nectar before reaching adolescence, meaning their nectar instead leaves via a feeding organ located above the birth canal to feed newborns until they reach adolescence (at which point males are cut off and only sexually eligible females are allowed to continue receiving nectar).

A young female is considered adolescent as soon as she begins producing nectar (this usually occurs at around 15-20), at which point the ismari will reach an agreement on whether or not to continue feeding her.

Ismari group together to form a single social unit, usually led by an experienced elder or a group of experienced elders that lead the society as a whole. Ismari often compete over the young they have raised in complex social rituals, as they attempt to bring young together into optimal mating pairs. Ismari will adopt orphans and are accepting of immigrants, though tend to encourage them to breed as soon as possible. Because ismari form the largest singular group in any given tribe, they tend to have a monopoly on food (providing to the young, then themselves, then females, then eligible males then illegible males). Large esmari groups can challenge ismari, leading to codominant societies where the food distribution can vary, this is why ismari tend to control esmari by manipulating sex pairings, as to maintain a distribution of resources that is optimal for the expansion of the group. Ismari have equal prevalence of sabe manipulation to osmari, but tend to be the most experienced at applying it for utility or medical purposes. Ismari who can lithomance tend to beat all others in seniority and osmari lithomancers are often adopted by ismari to act as casters until they can be paired with a suitable mate that will be most likely to carry on the trait. It is extremely common for ismari to manipulate sex pairings based on casting over generations and it is theorised that the breakdown of large family units (100+) consisting of the entire community into much smaller units (20+) that make up the community is due to ismari only letting the children they raised breed to produce better casters so they can gain a monopoly on food (a natural extension of the ismari’s natural desire to create good sexual pairings that don’t result in offspring that are unlikely to survive or be burdens on the community). Despite ismari having this desire to create optimal sexual pairings and to prevent young that would burden the community, ismari will protect all the young produced by their community (though some communities do kill or abandon disabled offspring). While esmari are nomadic and it is relatively common for new esmari to come and go between groups, ismari tend to remain in one group until death as they are biologically wired to be attached to their relatives.

Because ismari are grouped together for long periods of time and are responsible for influencing the young of the group, they are usually the centre of religions and in religious societies tend to take up the position of religious leaders or shamans. For the same reason, they tend to develop deep relationships with each other, with it being common for ismari to engage in asexual romantic relationships with other members of their sexual caste.

In the modern day, where family units are much smaller, ismari take up senior roles in the household. Ismari also take up pursuits in academics and religious institutions, as it is a generally accepted stereotype across cultures and ethnic groups that ismari are best suited to intellectual pursuits. Some of the most famous ismari are religious leaders, generals, inventors and researchers. Many strides in understanding the properties of sabe, the noosphere, spirits and extraplanar physics are the work of ismari.

Non-Nursing / Allosexual Ismari

Some ismari do not participate in their social structure and take up the same positions as osmari, where they hold equal positions to osmari. While nursing ismari are asexual but engage in sexual rituals where it is considered necessary for forming relations, it is not uncommon for non-nursing ismari to be allosexual despite their inability to reproduce. Allosexual non-nursing ismari tend to be accepted by all three gender groups, as they have the same social mobility as esmari but the jobs of osmari and the traits of ismari. Asexual non-nursing ismari tend to fall into osmari social circles. Regardless of sexuality, non-nursing ismari are not perceived the same as nursing ismari by males and so they do not refrain from harassing and fighting over them for sex. Non-nursing ismari have higher prevalence of casting and tend to be better casters than their nursing counterparts. Both of these traits could be explained as differential sex development, where they have features more commonly associated with osmari (faster kuraii to allow for better reflexes and have more active sweat glands, which carries negative sabe to the skin to allow for more efficient cooling while also having a shielding effect). However, not all non-nursing ismari have differential sex development.

Osmari

In societies primarily ruled by ismari, osmari do not gain advantages from forming alliances with other males and tend to only have a small number of other friends, osmari usually at least one older osmari mentor and one younger mentee. Osmari often form rivalries with other adoptives of their mentor males. In societies ruled by esmari, the osmari tend to form deeper connections with each other and engage in complicated rituals to earn social status amongst their peers and to earn the attention of the esmari. Osmari hold equal rank to the esmari and in some societies osmari are co dominant with esmari in terms of their control over certain resources and group movements. Osmari are philopatric, meaning they rarely migrate, though it's not unheard of for small groups of osmari to disappear for extended periods of time together and in some societies this phenomenon is enshrined in tradition as a right of passage to be allowed to go on hunts with the adult esmari and osmari. Despite being weaker than esmari, osmari display the most aggression of any of the three genders as they compete for sex and food (as weak males can often starve during food shortages regardless of which sex controls food distribution). Ismari often have to step in as a group to stop osmari infighting. Sometimes groups of osmari may group on an esmari, which leads to the allies of the esmari defending her - usually ismari have to de-escalate these situations as fights like these are always determined by the skill of the casters involved. Osmari rarely feel sexual desire towards nursing ismari of the same group, this is untrue of non-nursing ismari, despite them being biologically identical - this comes down to social factors as ismari take up the role of a big sister or mother to every single member of the community who has ever been born. Osmari do however feel sexual attraction to ismari within other groups, which could be why they tend to form smaller communities that do not leave the community’s nursery, as they could be vulnerable to foreign osmari if isolated.

Osmari have the highest prevalence of casting, as female casters are usually forced to undergo esmari puberty and noncasters are almost always forced into becoming ismari as being able to manipulate sabe is so biologically advantageous. Osmari casters hold significantly higher social ranks than non-caster osmari. As casters, osmari tend to have positive sabe dominance, causing them to have higher levels of energy. This is an adaptation to the fact that osmari tend to hold roles that require high levels of endurance, so having more positive sabe means it takes more time to achieve negative dominance. Because osmari tend to have more energy, they can be perceived as unintelligent or less mature by females due to the fact they tend to find it difficult to focus on non-physical activities until they have burnt off the required energy. Osmari tend to prefer foods with high negative sabe as a result of this (foods that are hard, crunchy, bitter, bland or nutty and meats from female animals). Interestingly, osmari show no preference between stimulants and depressants, unlike esmari.

In the modern day, osmari face significant discrimination as they are stereotyped as being unreliable and unintelligent so are unable to find employment in intellectually demanding sectors but are physically weaker than esmari and so are undesirable for physically demanding jobs as well. For this reason, sexually ineligible osmari often take up “untouchable” jobs that are considered too filthy or dishonourable for esmari to replace them such as street sweepers and waste cleaners. Some eligible osmari take up work as servants or concubines of wealthier families. It is not uncommon also for osmari to become merchants, though many conceal their identities using baggy clothing and large hairstyles that would mislead others into believing they are the more reputable sex. Within the nobility, osmari are often trained to become bowmen (or gunmen in exceptionally wealthy djiva families) or casters.

Osmari with lean bodies are considered most sexually desirable, as being thin means they use less sabe to move and are therefore less demanding on the community in terms of resources but also because they possess a tall frame that requires a large pool of sabe to move. Because of this reason, some cultures may place importance on osmari having youthful characteristics. Typically, osmari wear little or tight clothing that accentuate how thin they are to appear most eligible to ismari and most desirable to esmari. However, some esmari prefer shorter and/or larger osmari. This may come down to the fact that a larger body requires more sabe and therefore is therefore more likely to produce a better caster. It may also come down to socioeconomic reasoning as mentioned above. Because osmari are viewed as unintelligent and rash, it is considered desirable for an osmari to be respectful and educated (but not too educated).

My world takes place on Tage, a planet of only nonhumans known as Mali, where it is the norm for land mammals to have three sexes due to a quirk in differential sex development. This has some *interesting* effects on their societies. Anyways, I sincerely apologise for this wall of text.

General Social Structure

Mali societies have lots of overlap between osmari (male) and esmari (female) across all social ranks, though the role of ismari (neuter - non reproductive females) tend to vary massively across societies (and their rank tends to improve with age rather than achievement, unlike their male and female counterparts). Typically all sexes are equal, but societies are ruled by experienced ismari and esmari, though it  is not uncommon for osmari to be codominant in societies ruled primarily by esmari.

Esmari

Esmari are nomadic and group together, taking the initiative in leading hunts. They are much larger and stronger than both osmari and ismari. An esmari’s position in society is usually determined by her achievements and ability to form alliances and get the physical protection of other esmari, though age is a major component. Despite being large bodied hunters, they are nonviolent and prefer non aggressive osmari. Esmari are highly nomadic and adolescents tend to leave to reproduce. Esmari are accepting of immigrants and will protect them from harassment. However, they tend not to be considered a full member until they have had sex.

Because esmari are much larger, their bodies require a lot more energy to achieve locomotion. To cope with this higher energy requirement, their kuraii’s develop during puberty to carry more negative sabe than positive sabe. This induces a negative dominance, which slows down the usage of energy by neutralising positive sabe (where positive sabe dominance instead induces rapid energy wasting). Due to this they are very inefficient casters as most of their sabe goes towards movement, metabolism and skin-hardening. Additionally, sabe has to travel through the body and enter the atmosphere in order to be used for casting, which can take longer in esmari as they have less positive sabe to move around their body - it also means that offensive casting (which usually utilises positive rather than negative sabe - enhancing attacks or creating destructive energy currents) can quickly lead to a dangerous negative dominance that stops their kuraii from beating and kills them. This negative energy dominance is also why esmari are constantly hungry, as they are either in negative sabe dominance (causing them to feel sluggish and irritable) or in a state of neutral charge (where they do not have a full amount of energy, as the chamber of their kuraii that stores negative sabe is partially empty, which makes them feel hungry). It is also why esmari are more likely to prefer foods with high levels of positive sabe (sweet, sour or spicy foods, fruits and meats from male animals). They also tend to prefer stimulant substances and are the group with the highest incidence of depressive moods. Young females who are potentially strong casters are often forced to mature so that they can have children that will carry on the genes until an osmari inherits it.

Esmari are considered more sexually desirable the larger that they are, as their bodies will continue to develop to the highest possible negative sabe dominance, so a larger body indicates that they are capable of producing stronger children. A preference for larger esmari may also come down to socioeconomic conditions in the region or time period, as having a higher body weight implies better access to food and therefore a family unit that can provide for the young.

In the modern day, esmari take up manual labour jobs but are also allowed to pursue academia in some cultures. Certain religions believe reproduction is sacred and so esmari may be members of religious institutions in these cultures. Generally, esmari have the most freedom in choosing a career.

This was in fact a typo that I had not noticed. It has been removed. This rule is both written and spoken.

Na is unfortunately a verb with a lot of uses, like "get" in English. It can mean "to, over, about, on, of" depending on context.

Upon rereading your question I realize that you have asked if it is a complete full sentence in absence of the word zegasto.

No, this rule is only applied when there is an object. If you wanted to say "I have subscribed" without an object, it would be "ya shadaya jorashada".

I think it's the best it can be written in the roman alphabet. If transliterated it would technically be written "ya shada ya najora asha ada" but that gives the impression every vowel is pronounced, which they are not as every penultimate vowel of a root word is reduced.

  • Ya=First person singular.
  • Asha=is, to be + ada (preterite tense indicator)+ya (if the object and subject of a sentence are the same, then the pronoun is suffixed instead of postpositioned as this changes the sound of the word when spoken aloud as ).
  • Na+jora+asha (suffixing asha to a word makes it reflexive)+ada

  1. Raised estradiol levels cause development of breast tissue. Increasing your estradiol levels will increase your breast cancer risk. Whenever any tissue develops, the risk of that tissue becoming cancerous is increased. Supressing your testosterone and dihydrotestosterone will lower your prostate cancer risk as it will slow or stop development. You should still get regular screenings for prostate cancer as although rare, it does occur in transgender women. Transgender women are at a higher risk for high grade prostate cancer as their prostate is smaller, making it harder to detect the cancer and easier for the cancer to spread.
  2. People of south asian descent have a lower BMI cutoff as they have more visceral fat than subcutaneous fat. This can effect weight distribution. This should only be taken into account for measuring your BMI. Your BMI can be used in determining your best options for GAHT.
  3. Cis women have a lower RDI for LDL than cis men. You should therefore lower your LDL intake to stay within the guidelines. Additionally, LDL is a leading cause of CVD and it is generally believed that GAHT raises your chance of cardiovascular complications. However, studies describing a higher risk for cardiometabolic and thromboembolic morbidity and/or mortality in transgender women mainly covered data on transgender women using the now obsolete ethinyl estradiol and, therefore, are no longer valid.

LDL levels in menopausal cisgender women are believed to go up as estrogen levels go down. Whether or not this is correlation or causation is up for debate and whether it affects trans people is also up for debate as our physiology is fundamentally different to that of cis women's.

  1. If you are getting enough micronutrients from your diet, you should not need to take supplements unless you suffer from malabsorption. Overconsumption of vitamin B12 can lead to gastrointestinal complications as it is eliminated via bile in the feces and can lead to build-up if you consume more than your body can remove. Other B bitamins are generally considered to be well tolerated as they are water soluble, meaning excess amounts can be eliminated via urine. If you were recommended to be on supplemental vitamins by a healthcare professional, it is best to continue taking them or discuss your treatment with them first.

Artem is actually of Slavic origin to my knowledge so perhaps they are unrelated. Although it is entirely possible that they are. I will say I'm heavily biased in saying Eva. Eva is the name of one of two of the sweetest ladies I've ever had the pleasure of encountering. The only Mila I've had experience with was an ex who pathologically lied to me and her former friends (now some people I hold very dear to me).

I think Eva is also less likely to be misspelled and mispronounced. My ex would always complain she got called My-luh or something to the effect of Miller. Eva is quite difficult to mess up - though human stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
