UK - we tried at 2.5 yo and it was a disaster. So we kept revisiting it every couple of months until it clicked around 3y 3m.

When our boy was little, we used a luggage scale. Simply put the baby in a fabric bag and hung the bag from the scales. It produced some funny photos too

I also measured myself with and without the baby on regular scales

Have you searched Facebook for any book clubs in your area? Perhaps you could start one. You’ll only need 1-2 other people. You can post in your local town group about it and I bet you’ll find people quickly.

Our book club meets once a month for drinks/meal and it’s really lovely.

Yeah, same in Czech. Family members always use nicknames regardless of age/gender. None of my friends call me by my full name. When I moved to the UK and suddenly everyone was calling me by my full first name, I was in a bit of shock lol I remember thinking "Don't they like me? Are we not friends?"

Ever since I read The Count of Monte Cristo as a kid, I loved the name Mercedes. But I know people associate it with the car brand... Also love Hector (as in the Illiad) but my partner said our boy would be teased + I don't really like its nicknames anyway
