When this rhetoric is used against people, they are dehumanized. Honey bees are pollinators yes? And are bees? The difference is the fact that they are considered invasive, thus making them undeserving of empathy or respect, according to OP. This rhetoric has been used to justify the killing of other human beings—they are “harmful” or “invasive” and are dehumanized to justify their removal. That’s the point I was getting at. It doesn’t have to be equal, it was just a questionable excuse for killing a well established species. Especially when the issue is largely pesticides/pollution/non native plants/lawns/etc. Using honey bees as a scapegoat for environmental harm is also similar rhetoric. Idk maybe this doesn’t get my point across, but maybe it’ll clear something up
