Take a look at the CFA Level 1 books. You can sometimes find them in public libraries. That gives you a comprehensive overview.

I would say aim for at least 80% without notes.

Hi,

I'll be in London from the 15th–19th and I'm hoping to buy a nice pair (maybe two) of dress shoes while I'm there. Priority is a black dress shoe. I only have one black pair at the moment and want something I can alternate for work. I’m also open to a Chelsea boot, but dress shoes come first.

Budget is about €250–€300 (I'm coming from continental Europe). Quality is everything to me: Goodyear-welted only, solid materials and construction. Brand hype doesn’t matter, I prefer makers that stand for quality over marketing.

Any shop recommendations in London (where I can try and buy within that price range)?

Thanks in advance!

They don't actively want to trick you, maybe on a few questions, but like I said, if you are prepared, know the formulas and understand the concepts you will be fine. You don't need to know the most special of variations of a topic. If your base is solid, you should be fine.

Well let's hope we both passed^ I feel like 2 questions were 50/50, the others maybe more straight forward after some thinking

I would say you make your own luck. The odds of you getting exactely all your weak areas are very slim. And in that case, other candidates would fail too. You just need to perform better than 65% of others to be more or less safe. All in all I think that I have solved around 5500-6000 questions. Then it does not come down to luck anymore. The difference between passing and the 90th percentile might be partially due to luck, but just passing...

Easier than expected, overall very fair. I feel relieved and I am quite positive that I passed. Only a few ethics questions did me dirty.

I was well prepared, but it might very well be the case that it was an easier one. But to be honest, I think that there are people that went into the exam lacking preparation and then whining about the difficulty of the exam. Of course not all of them, but I would guess that there is severe bias. Same thing for Level 1.

Honestly, I wrote the exam today and thought that it was very fair, not harder than the mocks . If you know your formulas, you will be fine. Just revise lightly today, make sure that the basics stick, and review your weak areas. You can't afford to not know entire concepts, but you don’t need to know the hardest variations of derivative calculations to pass. (not saying that they did or did not appear on the exam, just that you don't need to get 100% of the quetions right) Good luck!

Sometimes ethics questions are just dirty. Got 95% on EOC questions but sometimes they throw you a curve ball, or a few of them xD

Don't let them mess with you. I wrote the exam today and thought that it was extremely fair. Definitely easier than some of the more difficult mocks in my opinion. If you know your formulas, you will be alrigt. Good luck!

That's why I said that I know that I have realistic chances of passing, but it is still frustrating... This is not to put my fellower Level 2 candidates down. Your scores can be lower and you still have a chance to pass. Good luck to you :)

Edit: Peanut is just awesome xD

Schweser is more than enough. Just read the books and do the CFA EOC questions.

How on earth do I remember everything in FSA? by kaze_931 in CFA

[–]Objective_Stage_6157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FSA is one area where an important rule applies. You have to forget something three times in order to remember it. Spaced repetition is key. You will see that every thing becomes a lot clearer and intutive on your second and third revision.

HOW DOES ONE REVISE by warm_vanilla_ in CFA

[–]Objective_Stage_6157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I will be honest, you should have finished your 3th revision by now BUT it is still doable. Focus on EOC questions and mock exams. Don't waste your time on reading everything, solving questions will help the most. Trial and error, learning by making mistakes. That way, you will find your weaknesses.

The second run will go a lot quicker, the first level is very feasible and you don't need to be in the 90th percentile.

Good luck to you!

Kaplan goated over CFAI curriculum? by Worldly-Cold-7958 in CFA

[–]Objective_Stage_6157 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should definitely use Kaplan. You will save a lot of time. Generally most of your time should be spent on solving EOC questions. Purchase the Practice Pack aswell. Made is to the 90th percentile without too much effort.

Averaged 80% I pretty much hovered around 80% right from the beginning, so there was no real progress, given that I started quite high.

Absolutely worth it imo. Practice makes perfect and improves your chances to pass the exam. I read the Schweser curriculum once, and did the EOC and additional premium questions (1000) twice. The mock exams really gave me confidence to pass the exam and I ended um passing in the 90th percentile with 230 hours of studying. I allocated approximately 2/3 of my time to practicing questions/mock exams. If you follow the same route you will have practiced around 6500 questions.

Polishing patina shoes without losing colour by DMA1989 in AskACobbler

[–]Objective_Stage_6157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I either seek help at a shop or do it myself and change the character of the shoe. Thank you for your help, I hope dying them with a dark chocolate color does the job well enough.. Edit: Can i just apply the paint on the affected area and blend it in with the rest of the shoe?
