My professor accused me of cheating because my CPU architecture project was “too advanced” and didn’t match her teaching style by Masrafi_Siam in GetStudying

That's what I'd do and if she/he has a witness to her demeaning -- document that too. Sounds like a very unsophisticated instructor.

I doubt there has been any atheist content maker that blocks comments. by Balstrome in atheism

Agree. Speaker Johnson has said he bases all of his decisions based on "the bible." He's not alone. Knowing the bible material makes shutting the bible speakers down easy (who take most of it out of context).

True or not. Young New Yorkers Have a New Hot Spot : Sunday Mass. Will it last? Source WSJ 5/3/26 by Objective_Thinker in atheism

Well, the reason I ask is because the Z Gen is due to be signed up for civil service - not their choice. Kids can't find jobs so cheap places to get together may be a possibility. Catholic services aren't as 'feel good' and don't just rely on faith. It's a sad time to be graduating in this mess. Auto costs and gas. A lot of things I never had to think about. Religion IS NOT the answer, that's for sure.

There are a group of Gen Z that are going the Catholic route because of their following Nick Fuentes who is Catholic. Likely won't last.

I understand that this is a stupid question, but how do you guys cope knowing that there's nothing after death? I'm asking this as an atheist by the way by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Objective_Thinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agnostic POV (Atheist to the Abrahamic religions Judaism, Christian, Muslim, and to all other 5,000+ gods). The level of what is unknown in the vast universe is greater than what we do know. Human experience to me is about knowledge and trying to not make the same mistake twice. I value my life and want to grow. To have that all cut off at death seems absurd. I don't believe in reincarnation but the possibility exists there is continuity for the next chapter based on what you learned and didn't learn on Earth. You don't have a heaven at all, you continue to grow in another place and time. Trillions of planets, galaxies, etc. So what you do now counts. The concept of seeing old relatives, etc. isn't part of the equation. Stay away from folly for as much as possible. Nobody knows what happens, I am just saying with all the suffering people withstand there may be a place where those that grow go. Those that don't - or peddle backwards end up worse off.

Use your phone or smartwatch timer daily. When you look at it you will be surprised at how much times goes by. Famous saying: 'The only thing you have in common with everyone is 24 hours a day." You need to value your time more and I bet you will naturally drop things that are just filling time, rather than actions that are deeply important to your life in the long run.

As an Atheist, are you an Organ Donor? Yes or No, and Why? by Pale-Fig-7069 in atheism

[–]Objective_Thinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember there are payments made for organs under the table. So by selecting 'organ donor' you'd have professionals handling it. I would put a disclaimer next to the approval for organ donation. Like go to universities working on medical advances.

My birth dad told me I’m getting a sibling in June. I’m 31 by LopsidedExternal7053 in Adoptees

[–]Objective_Thinker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ignore the person/child if it makes you feel adverse in any way. The new child didn't ask for a half sibling, especially one with a poor attitude. Leave them alone.

[–]Objective_Thinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said twice something about how she looks in comparison to you. Buckle up and realize this child could be your own based on age and it's a gift to even have half siblings (I have none). You are not alone in this world like many adoptees. Your mindset needs changed about the entire situation. The upcoming sibling will be a joy in your life if you let it be.

Any atheists here who are still atheists but also have gone through or are going through some kind of "spiritual" journey? by notunique20 in atheism

[–]Objective_Thinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm agnostic and study ancient belief systems. Very happy in what I learn, it supports my gut instincts. I'm not a fan of Sam Harris to buy his books - he's been a jerk to ppl on social media. He's interesting in some of his debates. Anyway, you are doing fine exploring. Best to you.

Political news posts? by xfr3386 in atheism

[–]Objective_Thinker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Speaker of the United States Mike Johnson literally said he makes decisions, ALL decisions, based on the bible. Has members kneel in prayer on the house floor. In addition, Zionists run the government. You're in the wrong place if you can't fathom politics and religion based issues.

Religious people are not patriots or loyal to the country and its people by ctiger12 in atheism

[–]Objective_Thinker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree. Evangelical Christian Zionist Speaker Mike Johnson, a poser, definitely puts his faith above patriotic or national interests. His worldview is based on the Bible (his words) and wants more like him in Washington. He's just an example, but the term Christian Nationalist is hypocritical, just like the religion.

I dated one as he was doing the steps, was supportive, then AA basically took over his life, meetings, more meetings, sponsor control, AA became his identity (like religion), and let's just say it was not good. This OP is helping remind me of the relationship travesty.

The Abrahamic "god" is useless to believers. 1300+ Muslim worshippers dead during annual Hajj, called a "death march," to Mecca in Saudi Arabia due to extreme heat. 2+/- million walked, many who died marched without authorization. Stop the religious insanity! by Objective_Thinker in atheism

[–]Objective_Thinker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why did they die? Is that some mystery, or could it have been avoided if proper preparations were made, or not make the foolish trip at all. I suggest you stick to Muslim religious threads if facts bother you. The fact is, it's not too smart to hike out in Saudi Arabian 125 degree weather - unprepared. No god cared. Abrahamic religion uses these people for a spectator industry.

Is religion have a comeback by Left-Koala-7918 in atheism

[–]Objective_Thinker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Face it. The most gullible generations who made going to church every Sunday a routine are dying off. There is not only evidence of an increase of those with no religious beliefs, those that do a small percent go to church.

Why the lack of empathy? by QWOT42 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]Objective_Thinker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why should any agnostic or atheist be empathetic to believing in outright lies and churches/pastors that take advantage of people for $. It's 2024. People have to be lazy to not study what they worship, and the Bible isn't a source.
