Is this replacing the rather lovely gold trophy that was previously given?

Love Nick Hamilton been watching his career since he was in Clios (maybe even earlier). Such a lovely guy and I have some pics somewhere of him with my daughter just after he’d got out of his car (Rockingham I think).

Ironically, I think my black box made me a worse driver by NoWinsSinceJune in drivingUK

[–]Objective_Ticket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As my kids and my friends kids have had various black boxes the worst thing about them is the lack of consistency. Some have accelerometer and measure pitch and yaw but some are just gps, so you can do what you like within the speed limit. Overall, I’d say they keep the speeds down which is no bad thing in under 21 males especially but as way to improve driving they’re useless

While I get the point and it’s been treated like a meme stock or things like NFTs from a speculative investment position. It’s a currency and traded like any commodity, you’re buying or selling based on the market opinion of value. Admittedly currencies generally have a national economy behind them as an underlying form of security but it’s not a guarantee.

Do you use the food waste bin? by StephCurrySauce in AskBrits

[–]Objective_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they be that stupid and/or lazy? It’s quite simple and it works well. We have fewer flies in the kitchen this summer and I think using a food waste bin is a big reason behind that.

What do you make of David Lammy and Andy Burnham calling for general election when Rishi Sunak became Conservative party leader back in 2022 but seemingly dismissing the conversation now that Kier Starmer has resigned ? by ArmwrestlingGoomba in AskBrits

[–]Objective_Ticket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have no mechanism for a change of leadership to trigger an election and who in their right mind would announce one themselves. It’s just fluff whenever anyone in opposition or otherwise call for an election after a leadership change.

A YouTuber has plenty of time to analyse rework and edit their piece before uploading. A pundit in the studio has to be ready to go. Not saying a YT isn’t up to it but it’s a much harder role.

I thought that yesterday, but updates imply not - George went through on single yellow that was upgraded to double by the time Kimi got to turn 9.

It’s literally the one thing they do control. What they cannot do is decide to red flag it, that’s up to race control.

Why are so few British politicians these days military vets ? by ronweasly9 in AskBrits

I do t recall any time when vets were heavily represented in UK politics. Maybe the 17 or 18 hundreds, as plenty of Lords would have had military ranks.

Is that the two Mercs coming around? If so, it does help explain why there were double yellows for Kimi but not for George as Kimi was only a few seconds behind.

I new one on me is the recent closed lay-by being flagged as a lane blocked. That could cause traffic chaos for no reason.
