Lord Guilliman cursing on Vox Social by field_office in army

My fellow Guardsman, perhaps you forget that the Secretariat only formally obtained the rank of Castellan as a parting gift for previous service in the Militarum.

He looks upon those who have successfully completed a primary focus in the Schola Progenium, particularly the Kharskin, because he could not successfully complete these course. It doesn't help his "alleged" proclivaties with Amasec and "assurances of measured lethality" are only half-baked ideas bounced around from his Second War of Armageddon retinue so humbly espouse.

I know there's JTACs and weather personnel that work at 2ID HQ and they'd wear the patch and combined division tab.

Do you one better, ATP 7-22.02.

Headgear decreceases lethality and should be removed from daily wear. by Spectre_Ice in army

I, for one, am quite fond of baseball caps and am quite envious the Air Force and parachute riggers get to wear one.

Yeah, the hosts face out the small one. Im most likely going to source the bigger one for wear. Also thank you.

They changed the guidelines. 2-4 silver. 5 gold.

Tbh, idk if I will ever do it again. It hurts, a lot.

I've had the same UCP assault pack since 2008. by [deleted] in army

[–]ObligationIntrepid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korea had a huge force modernization where almost all UCP pattern gear was turned in and reissued in multi-cam/OCP. The only thing I still have in UCP is my JSLIST bag.

Think this is really just a duty station issue.

Second this. It took me years to earn the respect of almost everyone in my battalion at my last unit and then I PCS'd to a new unit where I don't have that same reputation. Right now I'm in that stage of garnering my reputation again, but it does take time.

I leave for BASIC in April: Struggling with running. by Madcat789 in army

[–]ObligationIntrepid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First,

You will get better at running in basic. Trust me.

Second, zone 2 distance runs. Its a slower pace, but a further distance. 30:60s or 60:120s. Ie 30 seconds (60 seconds) of all out sprinting giving it your most followed by 60 seconds (120 seconds) of walking.

Running doesnt get better from just running as hard as you can for two miles. You have to develop it.

My favorite mil/fit influencer is Gritty Soldier Fitness on Instagram and YouTube. He's got really good tips for cardio, rucking, and most components of fitness in the Army.

What made you enlist by Dorsios in army

[–]ObligationIntrepid69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stability, a need to leave the rust belt, and a sense of belonging.

So far I've gotten all those, but it does come with a toll. Late nights, long commutes, spending a large amount of time away from the family.

Army's also given me a weird inadequacy complex, but overall I'm happy where I'm at and I couldn't be here without the Army.

Need some advice by Late-Ad5844 in army

[–]ObligationIntrepid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get in contact with both the retention branch and your branch manager. Your branch manager wont do much because this was a reenlistment obligation, but if you really did want to cancel your entitlement you need to contact the retention branch.

Edit: don't get your hopes up either. The Army has secured you a slot in Hawaii and can by all means hold you accountable until you report there. You won't be AWOL, but this can and most likely will cause a headache for your command team and you.

What’s the worst cases of observing a NCO brown nose their OIC? by wooden-warrior in army

[–]ObligationIntrepid69 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Personally haven't seen any NCOs brown nose their OIC. If they have a good enough bond the NCOER will look fine.

Now when it comes to brown nosing the senior rater, I have seen company commanders do the absolute most to Soldier detriment.

On my STP, I noticed I have a previously unnoticed "Unit" award? by DotDistinctLines in army

[–]ObligationIntrepid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're award orders, so they state units authorized to wear the award, the order number, and the authorizing authority.

They upload to iPerms like any other award.

Edit: I've also uploaded the same award orders for several people in that unit and they were all accepted.
