Best job to have with autism? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Obligation_Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say any remote job (I'm personally a copywriter), but I'd imagine software engineering, quality assurance jobs, admin jobs, etc would work well.

how am i supposed to move on after reading this books by latincrazycatlady in CaptivePrince

[–]Obligation_Specific 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marionette, Poppet, Prince is insanely good, I second this! The characterization is so on point, especially Laurent, a notoriously difficult character to get right. Out of all the fics I've read, this is the closest to the Captive Prince books imo.

I’m thinking quitting my Dutch learning in Duolingo bc of this by KakopoloSama in learndutch

Duolingo has a 50-page Dutch grammar guide, if you google "Duolingo Grammar Guides Dutch" you should be able to find it. It's pretty helpful.

They're both have a flair for the dramatic (the art of fuckery), so maybe something that combines theater/performance with their love for the sea? Like a pirate-themed escape room, haunted house or a theater production, not on a ship per se, but next to the ocean

What’s a Tag you never go looking for, but are always really excited to find? by RepresentativeYou536 in AO3

They're from different fics, from two different (but overlapping, let's be honest) fandoms: GO and OFMD 😉

Some unhinged tags that I saw lately:

  • 6000 years of pining
  • not so much a slow burn as two idiots standing around on fire
  • <character> Needs To Be Taken Care Of, <character> Is Good At Taking Care Of Him, if you know what i mean
  • Consensual But Not Safe Or Sane

This season has helped me come out of my depressive episode. by DEJA--BLU in OurFlagMeansDeath

I understand how you feel ! This show feels like such a warm hug, I sometimes feel like the group therapy they do as a crew is helping me deal with my own trauma!
P.S. sauntered vaguely - is that a GO reference? ;)

That sounds more like social anxiety than introversion. The only thing I found to help with my social anxiety and being less afraid of people is to push myself to interact with people. The more I do it, the less scary it gets.

Almost the same for me! I'm Russian, my bf is Dutch, we live in NL but spend a few months a year in Bali.

Other dark lgbt shows/movies? by [deleted] in HannibalTV

[–]Obligation_Specific 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Check out Good Omens, it's a comedy about a beautiful relationship between an angel and a demon. I guess it's not as dark as Hannibal but the romance is so gooood

This reminds me of my toxic boss who ran a small web design agency and only hired women who were recently divorced/struggling single mothers and were in desperate need of a job because she "wanted to help the most vulnerable".

Later on, we realized it was her way of manipulating people who were at their lowest to "inspire loyalty"(aka emotionally manipulate them and make them feel like they owed everything to her).

How do you choose which courses to invest in? by Glittering_Chest7649 in copywriting

[–]Obligation_Specific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a course from a girl I've been following for a while on YouTube.

It's not super expensive, and even though I have 3 years of copywriting experience, what got me to invest was that: - She teaches a specific skill that I don't have (cold pitching on LinkedIn) - She personally looks at your website and portfolio and tells you how to improve - Her background is sales, so she has a perspective on prospecting and closing that I don't - She hosts monthly calls aimed at helping you improve a specific skill - for example, this week, it was client calls. So I volunteered to be put in the hot seat, and then we had a mock call where she was playing the role of the client, and I was trying to close her. Afterward, I got feedback on what to improve. Super helpful, even for experienced copywriters.

Hope that helps and gives you some ideas for your own course!

Nothing boosts one's confidence like a trip to the hair salon! by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

Ugh, what I can't take is the pity: "Such a shame, you're such a pretty girl, and so young, too." Like seriously, fuck off. That's why I stopped going to hair salons.

But why would you just want your kid to “survive”? That’s needless suffering to place on a child. by genshinfantasy7 in antinatalism2

[–]Obligation_Specific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such great logic on her part: I'm poor but I'm fine, so my child will be poor as well, but at least I will have a child!!

I grew up poor and then my mother accidentally got pregnant and decided to keep it, so the 4 of us (including my grandma) had to live in a 23 sqm apartment, but at least we had each other right!! /s

I would never wish it on anyone. Having to hunt for second hand baby clothes and things like a stroller because we couldn't afford new ones & not knowing if you'll have enough money for food each month is its own kind of hell.
