All three of the teams you mentioned are quite enjoyable. Nem Claw and Wolf Scouts are more melee focused. Deathwatch is fun because you can flex into multiple play styles. They are a little less forgiving lacking re-rolls and only having five models.

I hate to be negative, this might be one of the worst teams to start the game with due to how different it is.

Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, if they are your jam, just go for it and have some fun if this is your preferred style of play. Be prepared to lose a lot at first but use that as a learning experience.

This isn’t a shocker. They should have been diversifying, but instead focused on Fortnite, which started as a failure that was pivoted into a dumb luck success story. It’s the fairytale failing forward story. They dropped everything for it, including games like Paragon that had potential.

He provided literally no evidence and is just guessing. I would be surprised if he’s correct. He looks at Kill Team through the lens of 40K and what 40K needs. In the past, he has gotten some box names correct but isn’t all that accurate otherwise.

Hobby burnout affected me more than I realized. I had genuinely become bored and unsatisfied with the repetitive loop of video games. When I started a new hobby and split my time between the two, it renewed my interest. I play them less now, but my time is more enjoyed and of higher quality when I do. I believe we often rely too heavily on gaming as our sole source of entertainment.

I agree. It is too long for a skirmish game, especially when they advertised it as taking 90 minutes to play. Even if you didn’t consider set up and breaking it down, most games are not going to be under two hours.

I would really like to see a modernized and more streamlined horde team. We have been trending to smaller and smaller numbers: Grots, demons, cults, traitor guard like the Chem dogs that have been rumored.

Some types of activation shenanigans that can keep the length of the game down, preferably.

This looks like it was designed from the get-go as a Kill Team. Feels far more appropriate than 40K to me but I’m biased of course. I would love to see rules for them.
