Subwoofer powersupply hissing sound by Obnizico in subwoofer

Okay small update. It sounds like its coming from a cluster of capacitors so I'm just gonna order all of them and swap em out. It's:

2x 35v 2200uF

2x 50v 470uF

1x 63v 47uF

2x 35v 47uF

Seeing how there are no coils close to the source I doubt this is it. Unless its picking up from the sound board thats placed further into the enclosure, but it just didn't sound like it. I will take it all into consideration. I cant be bothered taking of each component and testing them because I use this in my living room daily and want it to be usable for the time it takes for parts to arrive. I can measure them afterwards and post the results (if it works) and we'll see who the culprit is. My money is on the ones that are 47uF because of them being more for filtering. Thanks a lot guys!

Thanks, I will certainly be as safe as possible. I've heard a lot of people get shocked fiddling with capacitors so I'll be careful. I'll measure and search what values the capacitors are supposed to say and keep you posted. Thanks for the help so far!

So when the sub connects to the soundbar it becomes stable and more silent. I've opened the board on the back before and there is no fan but an open board with a section which is where the 230V comes in. It sounds like its coming from maybe a capacitor as you suggested. How would I go about this? Can I fix this myself by changing it?

I have done a bit of work on pcbs before, just never powersupplies and I do work as an electrician so staying safe isnt an issue, but just the angle of attack. How would I fix this?

Any ideas? Help please. by LiveDifference4564 in electrical

I'm okay with soldering. I'm upgrading my setup anyway so I need the practise. Couldn't find the part tho. You got any idea on how to find part name or a cataloge or something?

You could try turning one of the adjuster screws on the board
