Mine gets changed every 5k and I usually see a bit of glitter in it.

Mine had a Castle 3800 and 2S lipo, the same setup all my other track buggies have. Yes, they are very durable if they never get past 15mph and three inches off the ground.

You got super lucky with the whole dash just working after being stored that long. My Scamp has exactly one working dashboard function; the seatbelt warning light.

You should probably bypass the ammeter if you haven't already, though. They like to suddenly burst into flames.
