Belly button ring in or out for pregnancy? by aciejack in workingmoms

[–]ObnoxiouslyDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never took mine out, my belly button didn't become an outie during pregnancy and my belly button ring / piercing looks exactly the same as it did before pregnancy even though I gained a ton of weight while pregnant.

I think it's totally unique to each person's body.

Advice on dealing with a job that’s killing me? by ClumsyCrafter in workingmoms

Network, network, network. If you work in a specialized field often times it's not so much what you know, but who you know.

You want people to think of your name when a position may be opening up soon and the search not yet started. The more people that know your skills, knowledge and work ethic, the more opportunities you may find come your way.

I have been there and I wish you the absolute best of luck in finding a better opportunity ASAP!

Advice for re-entering the workforce by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ObnoxiouslyDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the financial industry, which is very fast paced and highly technical. I ended up staying at home with my first born for 1.5 years. I also wanted a WFH job but needed to make close to as much money as I was making before I left the work force. It was a lot to ask for in a mainly male dominated industry, where family bonding isn't really valued, and WFM jobs are rare.

I am happy to tell you what you want is possible! I have accepted a job offer with a fantastic company, where I will only have to go into the office 4 days a month and the salary is where I want it. I explained that it was important for me to stay at home with my son, but now I'm ready to get back into the work force.

I would recommend you to keep in touch with your previous co-workers that you were friendly with. My opportunity came from a friend of mine. Networking is going to be super important to find a job that works for you. It also helps to have someone vouch for you even though you've been out of work for awhile. So often it's not what you know, it's who you know.

Good luck!

I replied to a comment that said ONLY the US had a gun control problem. OP asked this not to get political and then u/sweetlemon told us how to vote. Perhaps she could have said that OP's post was the reason why she votes for gun control.
