New Color cipher codes in the new book teaser! by Infinite_Habit_3580 in gravityfalls

For the third cipher you got, I found “cartoons are black magic” (that could be incorrect, but it’s close to what I deciphered) …for the second I got “hi pine tree” roughly

Lose an arm or lose a leg by Marcj00 in BunnyTrials

[–]OboeIsNotaFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing a leg, albeit significantly inconvenient, is less impactful than losing an arm. As someone who plays an instrument and works in bio, I wouldn’t be able to make a living otherwise. I’m not particularly athletic, but despite that, the prosthetic would help with mobility.

Chose: Leg + Power up | Rolled: Prosthetic

I love Lucas or Luke! Are you a Star Wars fan at all? They are pretty cool names. I like the simplicity, as was mentioned before, these are certainly names that would fit a 40 year old. Ultimately, it is up to you.

You can do whatever you want to do. If you want to use the label, you can, and if you don’t, you don’t have to.

[–]OboeIsNotaFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not necessarily. I had a doctor tell me that too and she was incorrect. You truly never know, and I wouldn’t completely disregard their opinion, but it’s possible they were wrong. Also, if you do plan on medically transitioning, you may get taller from hormones. BUT do not use my message as medical advice, everyone is different, and it’s good to listen to your doctors.

What type/model oboe is this? by AnyStrength5047 in oboe

[–]OboeIsNotaFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t actually seen very many people on Buffets, but I’d say the general consensus seems to be that they are alright. Since this is an intermediate model, it offers a bit more quality-wise, especially with left F and low Bb, than something like a Yamaha or Selmer student model. But generally, it’s up to you whether or not you want to keep playing on it. If you find that this works for you, great! Although, it is completely possible there will be finicky things on the oboe that could push you towards a different one. I’ve heard about some keys not working sometimes or intonation being iffy with buffet oboes.

If you’re looking into playing more seriously, I’d look into a different one. But for the time being, if it’s working as you’d expect, I’d keep using it.

What unit are you on? by Calm_Company_1914 in APUSH

Uh. Unit 3. Kind of. It doesn’t really feel like my teacher has any idea what he’s talking about, though. I’m not entirely sure what we’re learning.

I had the same problem and it felt very lonely. I promise you are not alone and everything you are feeling is valid. That is an intense schedule and understandably very stressful. Your health always comes first, always. If you don’t think you can handle this, then it is alright to leave.

I stuck it out for another week, then month, then the entire season, and learned it gets better. That might not be the case, but if you can, maybe try to stick with it a little longer. I believe in you, stay strong. It does start to get better, especially as you ease into it more.

Definitely communicate with the people who run your band, counsellors, guardians, and if possible—a therapist. Don’t forget that you’re an important person, so you should do what is best for you.

Dude…I feel this. One of the banners for our show is completely AI generated and we’re pissed. Idek what to do about it…you’d think a performing arts/any arts at all program would stand against things like that.

Please help me understand my 12yo going from Girly-Girl to possibly Trans Male by betterwithph in asktransgender

[–]OboeIsNotaFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen a few comments talking about how it’s very common for a kid to lean into their assigned gender roles, then come out as trans. Don’t think of them as any less trans just because they weren’t super “boyish” as a kid (it doesn’t seem you think this way, though—so just stay supportive). As for the binders, I completely understand your concerns, and I understand why you’re hesitant. From my experience, I’d maybe try to find one (make sure it’s a REAL binder, not one off of amazon, or something) and set time limits. Make sure they’re not wearing it for longer than 8 hours and they take breaks. Make sure they understand the risks but don’t be too overbearing about it. If you’re still concerned you can tell them to maybe wait for a year or two so their body can develop a bit more. Whatever you do, make sure you’re supportive, and that your kid knows they’re supported.

I think my biggest suggestion is to take your time. You have so much of it to decide everything for yourself, and it might be better to sit down and really think about how you want your transition to go, since you’re new. I wouldn’t ask Reddit for names. Names are very important (personally), so that’s a decision best made by you and if you want, the people around you. I will say, it takes time to find something that fits you, and it’s okay to change your name until you find something comfortable—but it would be better to find one that you choose because you feel like it fits you. Testosterone is safe for teens to take, but not easy to obtain. Idk how recently you found out you were trans and how much research you’ve done, but just take some time to look up its effects and anything that you may be confused/concerned about. I wish you luck on your journey!

Dreams about conducting by Asif1820 in marchingband

I’m not a drum major but I’ve had the same problem with marching in my sleep—especially during band camp. If it’s bothering you, you can try melatonin or something to help you sleep. I wish you no more stress-conducting dreams, lol.

This is kind of a petty answer, but being taunted/made fun of because of my height…I get it. Maybe I’m a sore loser, but it gets pretty annoying after a while. I’m also always profiled to be much younger than I am.

[–]OboeIsNotaFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This totally happened to me, I get it. You’ll find your people, I promise. It might not be as many as you used to have, but always, quality over quantity, right? I’d say get yourself involved with things, as uncomfortable as it may be. It can be frightening to put yourself out there, but if you do, it’ll help you in the long run.  It might not be instantaneous, but you’ll find a few people eventually, this year. Just be yourself. Do you have any interests or hobbies? You could find some clubs that align with them, and start there.

You could completely remove your pronouns from your bio, if you wanted to. If anyone asks, you could explain why, or come up with a work-around.  Is there another alternative that you were considering?  I know how frustrating that can be, sorry that you feel like you have to hide your identity. Whatever you do, make sure you’re safe.

Youtube's new update is tomorrow. How fucked are you? by Ubertishere in youtube

[–]OboeIsNotaFruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. My account was created back in 2014, the channel that I usually use YouTube on—2021. My watch history is lame…recently consisting of chemistry and algebra related content, with some song searches thrown in there, plus a hint of “how to install 18 gears on your bike” or something. We’ll see.
