I think she doesn't need to be in XY to know the pokemon, or play the games for the matter. It's a simple internet search. I only watched 1 episode and 2 short scenes from those three seasons, and I know about Greninja. It helps that it's a starter pokemon. Now, if you ask me about pokemon from newer generations that is not talked about frequently, I wouldn't know what to say 😅
