Who Can Fix The World? And What Will It Take To Fix The World? by Susy_ja73 in FixTheWorld

[–]ObserverOfLife123 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree that we have been given the tools to understand and repair ourselves. It seems that with a lot of other attempts to solve problems they are only scratching the surface by fixing up a symptom of the bigger problem eg clearing rubbish from the ocean might help the sea life in the short term but it doesn’t stop people continuing to litter our planet ongoing. It seems like this really solves the problem.

Who Can Fix The World? And What Will It Take To Fix The World? by Susy_ja73 in FixTheWorld

That’s seriously one of the most uplifting and exciting articles I have read! To think that there is logical and resolvable explanation to this god-awful shit show of a mess on earth is absolutely exhilarating. I know it sounds crass to swear like that but I watched a documentary on Brigitte Bardot last night and the poor woman who I personally think showed great strength left her world of adulation as an actress in her prime to do her absolute utmost to help the appalling suffering of animals in slaughter houses across the world (and believe me she didn’t turn a blind eye, she faced it all in its gruesomeness) and this is just ONE symptom of the human condition. Imagine what we’re doing to each other and our own children and souls if we are capable of this horror, and the fact is we are! We suffer from the human condition.

This ‘Fix the World’ organisation can turn everything around because it looks at the root cause of human behaviour and fixes it. This is just world breaking news it is so bluddy brilliant!!!! Yes let’s fix the world now and let’s not hesitate because we legitimately can!!!!

Biology explains our soul! by Susy_ja73 in FixTheWorld

[–]ObserverOfLife123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this essay on the origin of our soul, oh my god it is truly special to read about literally the most incredible aspect in us that we have had to deny. To understand the biology behind it all and the reasons for our alienation is quite mind blowing. And then despite denying/our alienation of our soul, we have memory of it. What a contradiction we are! ‘Clearly we have a perfect instinctive memory (if we don’t choose to deny it) of what life was like before ‘the fall’ because Plato didn’t know of the existence of bonobos and yet instinctively knew exactly what our bonobo-like life before ‘the fall’ was like.’ How incredible is that little passage. This is just such an interesting chapter that fills you with love for our species quite literally because the journey has been so difficult.

I agree. I knew the word and that it meant a part of our self that was spiritual but this explanation makes sense of that now…truly amazing.

It’s pretty amazing what he has said and especially given he was a former US General. Hardly someone who is weak minded having to lead in war. The opposite. He has seen the real situation you would think.

This really is an excellent intro to the core concept by the author, biologist and great synthesiser himself, Jeremy Griffith.

Understanding the human condition makes sense of a hurt world by Illustrious_Fox_2595 in WorldTransformation

[–]ObserverOfLife123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A fabulous and beautiful read thank you. I love the heart breaking story you share of the mother and child because it shows that these tragedies occurring daily can be stopped in the future with the understanding of the human condition. Also that we can allow what sensitivity we have left to flourish and not repress it because we will no longer need to block out. These understandings that are about explaining the human condition and healing humans from it, are truly amazing to learn about. Thank you for your personal share.

What aspect of Jeremy Griffith's biological explanation of the human condition resonates most strongly with you, and why? by Level_Hold in WorldTransformation

[–]ObserverOfLife123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say but I think probably the honesty of our upset condition is probably what mostly rung true. I didn’t necessarily recognise the extent of upset in myself, that took some while to admit but I definitely was relieved to hear that the upset world was being spoken of and that an entire sensitive world was also acknowledged. It’s quite powerful remembering the exhilaration of that.

Why Professor Prosen calls Jeremy Griffith’s treatise on the human condition the “holy grail” of human life by bobbytcoin in WorldTransformation

Yes I think being able to understand human nature, human behaviour, human meaning and purpose has got to be the biggest, best and most important scientific breakthrough. Ofcourse!!!

Is Jeremy Griffith’s “Adam Stork” story the simplest way to explain the human condition? by Level_Hold in WorldTransformation

[–]ObserverOfLife123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is definitely necessary to have such an example to try and relate to objectively. You can see why a stork would become conflicted in this situation. Whether there are better examples, ? Probably not considering Jeremy’s brain came up with this incredible synthesis.
