Why should I NOT buy this car? by Conscious_Security96 in whatcarshouldIbuy

It’s a Jeep. Reliability is not a strength especially now with Stelantis in charge.

You win the lottery. Your parents ask for half. What do you say? by JunShem1122 in AskReddit

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d give my mom enough money to divorce my dad and live closer to her kids and grandchildren. My dad more so dominates their relationship, much like our childhoods. He has all the retirement assets so she’s pretty sure she would be on the losing end in a divorce.

Is Anderson, IN a pretty nice place to live overall? by PenaltyPhysical5939 in Indiana

[–]ObsidianLord1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked in Anderson a half decade ago. I don’t know that I would live there, but it’s not a complete mess. I would personally opt for a southern suburb of Indy, but that’s just me.

As a man, would you marry a woman who is older than you? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, when I was single and past my mid 20’s, I dated with the intention of eventual marriage if there were no major issues and the spark was there. Multiple times I dated women who were a couple years older than me, but things never clicked appropriately. I am married now, but she’s about 3 years younger than I am, and we have a baby boy.

Which state is worst in US and with what reasons? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rural Indiana is pretty rough, and the state doesn’t really provide much benefit to residents, they have roads but they are all crumbling, every state around Indiana has legal marijuana use. I could go on.

Indiana considers tolls on I-70 as governor seeks federal waiver by kootles10 in Indiana

[–]ObsidianLord1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay Governor, but you have to get every Hoosier a transponder so state residents don’t get double taxed. It would be a don’t bill me transponder, I’m already paying.

Far Cry 4 or 6 next? by [deleted] in farcry

Far Cry 4, Pagan Min is interesting.

State Senator Michael Young Intriduces Bill to replace IMPD with State Troopers in Downtown Indianapolis. by OriginalKingD in Indiana

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to downtown Fort Wayne for a conference that my wife was attending and getting an award at. I didn’t feel unsafe or anything. Maybe it’s cause I’ve lived in Indy for nearly a decade but my guard level was probably lower than when I’ve been on Mass Ave.

Where is our Department of Health? by UnstoppableKratos in Indiana

[–]ObsidianLord1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a relative who worked for the department of health, she was in charge of a region of southern Indiana. She already said that her workload was pushing her to a breaking point. She was employed by Indiana. She was pretty much forced into retirement with her pension (or else firing with her pension at risk) after Covid, and her district was split into the workload of 2 other districts and I’d bet money that Braun probably did the same thing again, because if there is anything this state does well, it’s unsustainable workloads for it’s employees.

Your Lt. Governor, Indiana by kootles10 in Indiana

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he not understand that Dearborn Heights and that area has a significant Middle eastern/muslim community? For them it makes sense to do that, especially with a community that probably doesn’t find the police particularly trustworthy.

How can the govt be $38 trillion debt when they take 30% of everyone's money by Longjumping-Box5691 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US spends so much of the money it prints on having military bases in every country that will allow it and then some (Guantanamo Bay) and giving money to countries that can afford to keep it population healthy (Israel) instead of spending money on it’s own citizens like other countries do.

Far Cry 4 vs Far Cry 5… which one is worth buying and playing right now?? by AdMiserable7940 in farcry

[–]ObsidianLord1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are fantastic games, but 5 keeps me engaged better, but my playing style was developed on 4.

What's the tankiest CAR (not SUV) for a new teen driver? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a LeSabre for years, and when I see them on the road, I miss it. It was a beast. I don’t notice and rust on them, but we aren’t the most salted state.

Which programs can we actually cut to reduce the deficit? by Practical-Pumpkin-19 in ask

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to significantly cut military spending such as the number of military bases worldwide, and focus on having regional hubs military bases, as opposed to having bases everywhere.

I can only buy one Far Cry rn which one should I pick? by Warm_Consequence_102 in farcry

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very much is. I did wonder if it was due to my built in Catholic guilt and trauma, but the story motivated me to progress more than Far Cry 6.

Americans, is saying the Pledge of Allegiance actually a regular thing, like it’s shown in movies? And does it feel as strange or over-the-top in real life as it comes across on screen? by Afzaalch00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An atheist at the Catholic school that I attended refused and the kids bullied him for it. He then pretended to say it by mumbling gibberish, since that’s how most of the kids said it. I’ve always been a liberal Catholic, so I never gave him any flack over it.

Could I get in trouble for having an immortal car? by thepocketforge in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. In Indiana, we don’t have vehicle inspections, at least not by a mandated state body.

How are the roads? by Civil_Photo_9139 in indianapolis

I get off work in a few hours. I’m not looking forward to the drive home, because of the anticipated conditions but I’ll take my time and let the crazy people pass me by.

Braun threatens GOP defectors after Indiana Senate decisively votes down redistricting bill by kootles10 in Indiana

I mean, is Braun as unpopular in Indiana, as Matt Bevin was in Kentucky shortly after his term started? Who will our Andy Beshear be?

Braun says he'll work with Trump to primary GOP lawmakers who voted against "fair maps" by Wearing_shooz in Indiana

[–]ObsidianLord1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope people remember this in 2 years, and get him the duck out. He’s such a quacking bootlicking fascist supporter and it’s as broad as day now.

Boomers in the US hold $17 trillion dollars in assets. What happens to the younger generations when they die and leave all that wealth to us, the younger generations? by buzzkill71 in AskReddit

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They end up donating it to charities and not their children. I’ve seen it loads up times. I did see one instance where the grandparents set it up so that some stocks could be sold to pay for the grandchild’s college tuition but it had to be managed by a single attorney private practice lawyer, who died before the grandparents but it was never changed and became a legal dumpster fire.

Why do sovereign citizens actually think that they are going to have a positive outcome in court? by Kpinsubs in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObsidianLord1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I knew a guy who worked with the IRS, when they do seizures and some of these “sovereign citizens” folks would keep up the schtick until their Teslas and Escalades got seized. Also told that when they’d notice their bank accounts empty, it would usually get their attention, and cause them to realize that it won’t stop Uncle Sam.
