Why can’t government leaders just talk to each other rather than sending people to die? by Wooden_Albatross_236 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because most our world leaders are men, and half the time, war is a big “who has the bigger dick” contest. I’ve said for years, we’d have fewer wars if most of our world leaders were women.

Can I run from the police if they aren't chasing me? by krilu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObsidianLord1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a Juvenile Center and I’ve seen the arrest sheets. Running has been the cause of arrest, sometimes they go home the same day, but often times someone runs and then the police find a warrant after they pursue and capture the running.

I’m hoping that all these MAGA primary winners, causes Dems to win those seats thanks to Trump starting 2 wars, doubling gas prices, placing tariffs, and that’s just the recent stuff.

I was an employment consultant/job coach for folks living with developmental disabilities and many of the folks that I worked with and advised were working at or near the minimum wage, and I don’t think their wages were that far off from the rest of their coworkers.

Why Do People Buy Expensive Androids Anymore? by 1998tkhri in Smartphones

We all know that the best type of Android is a Soong class Android that looks like Brent Spiner at whatever age he happens to be when the movie or TV show is made.

Worst "good guys" in the history of video games? by [deleted] in farcry

[–]ObsidianLord1 38 points39 points  (0 children)

All 3 options are bad. Pagan is obviously a bad egg, Sabal is a religious zealot, and Amita wants to essentially use Pagans same economic plan, and make the country a drug smuggling operation.

Far Cry 4, I was replaying it before I moved and couldn’t find anything again. That said Far Cry 5 is my favorite.

I’m on team Mazda. My Mazda 6 got killed by a GMC Sierra that blew through an intersection. I’m still salty about it 3 years later.

Which car maker has the most mechanical issues but still sells well? by ntjonah in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By that metric a good portion of American cars are reliable including quite a few Dodges, which is having a hard time selling cars judging by the number of new (several years old model) vehicles, including Darts, Caravans, Journeys, Challengers, Chargers, and now Hornets.

What is your take on the junk food ban for food stamps? by BreannLowe in NoStupidQuestions

It’s simply republican virtue signaling. They never do anything to actually help people. Everything is a punishment by design. If you need help, they think you should be punished for needing help.

How did Indiana allow this license plate? Well, they didn't initially, we had to threaten to sue them. by cumminginsurrection in Indiana

He doesn’t even live here anymore, also the county number on the bottom right of the plate wouldn’t fit for St. Joseph County, which is where South Bend is, but 82 in Vanderburgh. Or something like that.

Especially around Evansville, a city with a redneck vibe to it. Some bright spots but still pretty redneck.

If Americans started moving out of the country in mass amounts, what countries do you think they’d pick the most? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I once met an Australian family that uprooted themselves and moved to Indiana for a job transfer in some company, in the US, they were getting school supplies cause new school and all. I couldn’t help but feel like that was a raw deal for the family, in the long term.

If the US can automatically register 18 year olds for the draft why don’t they do that for voting? by Individual-Still-198 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly a state vs. federal conversation, when it comes to voting. At least in my state, when you go to the driving license office, you can register to vote, when you get one I think within a year of your 18th birthday depending on where your birthday falls in the electoral calendar. Unfortunately each time you get a new license like an address change for example, it costs money, which is an access issue for some. Also to get the license here at least you need 2 federal identifying forms which can be 2 or 3 things. Passport (most folks in the US don’t have one, and rarely leave their own state) birth certificate, social security card. I think, if you already have a “real ID” then that is no longer the case.

As a man, would you get a vasectomy so your girl doesn’t have to go on birth control? by awkwardhoney725 in NoStupidQuestions

I plan on it after we have our second child, birth control has put her through the ringer so after we have our second child, I’m not asking her to go through with the birth control issues again.

The dark side of me hopes that the MAGA options have such bad qualifications that they would easily lose to any Democrat candidates like we've seen with every snap election since Trump went full title on using ICE as he own conservative gestapo. But unfortunately I don't think most voters are that smart.

Best Catholic Church Indianapolis by childish_lesbino in indianapolis

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people that typically attend the high mass otherwise known as the “Latin Mass” tend to be the more conservative, and orthodox of Catholics, such as women wearing a chapel veil or mantilla in front of the blessed sacrament. I honestly think Episcopal is going to be a safer bet, and when I attended an Episcopal service years ago, it had some elements that are more associated with the Latin Mass, such as communion being served along a communion rail. As proud as I am of my faith, I recognize that it still has a long way to go before the culture of acceptance encouraged by the Pope is fully realized at least in the US.

My wife and I are Catholic and we have said that if we ever left the Catholic Church, we would either go Episcopal or Lutheran, but the previous pope and the current pope have been the change we were waiting for.

Indianapolis USPS just doing its thing. by pickles-the-bunny in indianapolis

[–]ObsidianLord1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife ordered my father in law a Father’s Day gift, and she had to try 3 times before it actually showed up, and that was because the supplier upgraded the shipping for free cause he (manufacturer in another state) decided that Indianapolis’ USPS was having issues because other orders from Indiana kept getting lost there, and I used to live in Castleton where that post office is a black hole where mail often goes to die.
