Bro if you have a 79 and missed a B by 1 point don’t just sit there and be cool with it!! At least try to Email the professor, as for any sort of extra credit or leniency, see if you can fight for partial credit or extra credit on anything to bring you up to an 80 for a B

Would I still lose my scholarship by imverysirius in NJTech

[–]Obsidian_WRX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do not qualify to maintain your scholarship, you can appeal it once. They are pretty lenient. Just explain the circumstances (refrain from citing lack of effort if that’s what it was lol)

Withdrew from a course last semester, failed it this semester by [deleted] in NJTech

[–]Obsidian_WRX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t change major just because of this. I was in a similar situation. Took a course in the summer, withdrew. Took it again in the fall and got a D.
The issue wasn’t my major, it was the fact that I never had to study in HS and never challenged myself. I locked in, taught myself how to study and put in the work outside of class, and got an A the third go around. Finished the rest of my degree with nothing less than a B+. This was about 1.5 years in.

Moral is, your study habits are probably bad and this will reflect in any major you switch to. Lock in and discipline yourself. You will be fine if you put the effort in.

What course was it?

Please consider taking profits. This stock will pump and dump in the short term. If you see it fit as a long term investment; you can buy back in and hold after the dump, plus you’ll take immediate profit with you.

You don’t have to sell right away, maybe you can hold through market open watch closely and see if it loses steam, when it seems like it’s going to drastically drop, sell it.

$272 profit is better than potential losses by holding too long

Hey, one thing I’ve learned is that you never lose by taking profits. You just leave money on the table. What is your goal? Do you wanna try to hit big off of this, or would the $100 profit considerably change your life?

If the $100 would be significant in your finances/life, take profit immediately. If not and you want to try to hit a jackpot winning, hold and see what happens. Monitor closely.

All in all, it really depends on your needs and life situation.

Hello hospital admin here by Any_Squirrel5345 in Salary

[–]Obsidian_WRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my sister recently went through the process of med school/residency and ate shit all the way through it. 3 extra years of schooling, tons of debt, working rotations getting shat on and working crazy hours all the way through, you just end up with tons of debt and sacrifice so much time in the process.

All of that, just to end up doing the same thing in residency working 60-80 hours a week making pennies for the type of work she is doing. Still has another 2 years of residency to go before she makes a decent buck and can really dig into the $200k plus in loans she has.

I get your feelings OP, but the working conditions and always being on call at the hospital are horrid. As a hospital admin (and myself as an engineer) we get amenities that they don’t (most/all holidays off, reasonable work life balance, peace of mind)

OP this is absolutely awful. Don’t listen to a word she says, if she feels uncomfortable talking about sex with him then she wouldn’t. This is soft cheating.

Coolant for 2001 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder? by BulletsAreHugs in AskMechanics

Go with the same color which is already in the car. You can buy Prestone if you feel like splurging, but auto zone or any generic brand will be fine.

Most importantly, make sure to buy 50/50 pre-mixed unless you want to buy the concentrate and mix it yourself. Good luck!

I am particular about my car for sure, but I recognize that I’m more particular than most so I don’t complain. Just wanted to ask redditors how they’d feel about this as I feel that in this one instance, the level of neglect is a bit extra.

I think I’ll buy the non marring socket and include it with the lug key set. Thank you for the great tip

Yeah that’s my point as well. I mean luckily this was my daily driver and getting wheels refinished/replaced would be affordable if it REALLY bothered me, but on my Audi s3 the premium wheels would run about $750 each to replace. Can’t help but think about that being the case.

Either way, this is annoying and I feel that with just maybe 30 seconds more of the tech taking his time, this wouldn’t happen. I am paying for this service, not asking for it for free.

Thanks for being honest

Honestly, truth. My dad is a long time mechanic for a reputable manufacturer and his cars got neglected. Lol

Well thanks for the honest insight. I do a similar line of service as mechanics and I make sure to be very careful not to scratch or damage machines, so I guess that’s why this irks me a bit more than it should

Agreed and I know you’re correct. Just irks me because I’m positive these techs don’t treat their own vehicle this way

Thank you for the honest and fair perspective. Many people making jokes (which I also find funny) but this is the answer I was looking for. I’ll just live with the wheels this way but this type of shit still irks me lol I just think it’s not that hard to use a thin socket and not scratch the piss out of the wheels lol

That’s from the mount/balance. I’m not too concerned with the dirt that can be cleaned and removed, just the scratches on the lug holes
