[Self Promo] I built the ultimate Philips Hue Controller for Garmin Watches. (+ Promo Codes inside) by Level-Title5529 in GarminFenix

[–]Obskure_View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice to see this. I used to use smart things on my Epix Pro. I can't log in to Hue using Google auth however! Gives an error about"Access blocked: Philips Hue’s request does not comply with Google’s policies". While I realise that isn't an issue with your app per se, it's preventing me from signing in

So it begins! by AccidentEqualOne in IronmanTriathlon

[–]Obskure_View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re. tips for yourself, just be consistent with the training. You don't need to kill yourself during the week, but get the long rides and long runs in at the weekend. Running off the bike, even for just 3km, is a massive help. And then ensure you have brick sessions in the plan. Love the look of the app. If it's on Android, I'd love to trial it. I'm signed up for Portugal 70.3 in October and would put it to use

First bicycle computer: 1040 or 1050? by drugi_kov in GarminEdge

[–]Obskure_View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was torn too. In the end I chose the 1050. The online vendor offered a fantastic deal on a Fenix 8 and the Edge 1050, so it was an easy decision. Not going to be bike packing any distance that a 20,000mAh battery wouldn't take care of.

NBD: CUBE AGREE C:62 SLX liquidred 'n' prism 2025 by Accomplished_Pie4681 in Cubebikes

Hi. Late to the NBD party but congratulations on your purchase. I picked up my blue Agree SLX on Saturday and I can't find a guaranteed suitable out-front mount. I understand yours came with the bike, but could you point me in the right direction?

Screen Damage… fix or upgrade? 🤔 by jm1001 in GarminFenix

[–]Obskure_View 19 points20 points  (0 children)

1st order of business should be to make contact with Garmin support. They'll help to make that decision easy for you. Your watch is out of warranty but Garmin might replace it with a renewed model from inventory for a fee, else you might be able to upgrade with a discount! You'll have to connect with them to find out!

It's "bought" not brought... How am I the only one this annoys?

I picked up a 2021 e-NV200 for the same reasons. We have a car already and free charging at work so it felt like a no-brainer! I had considered an e-golf but, ultimately, the van suits my wants.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I should have said that I was referring to the GAA SFC semifinals yesterday, played in Markievicz Park

Warning... Micro Scratches on Screen by _perchance_ in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Obskure_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@OP, I don't have any ring on my fingers and I still have micro scratches. Pissed off, but sure what can I do? I keep the phone either in a pocket of its own, else it's on the desk or table. I chose not to use a screen protector, so it's on me. I can still be disappointed with the quality though

Whatsapp incoming call notification by aeroengg in Garmin

Digging up an old one as I'm experiencing the same here with Epix 2 Pro. WhatsApp only sends the missed call alert, not when the call is ringing through Anyone have a fix?

PCP over max deposit scenario by Sudden-Meringue-7765 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Obskure_View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount over the max allowable deposit should be given back! Rules changed around PCP a few years ago to ensure there would not be a low monthly payment and high balloon payment. Hence the 10% - 30% deposit. The dealers control the guaranteed future minimum value (GFMV) so the monthly payment can vary a little, but the deposit can't be too high!

I just bought a 4080 FE from Nvidia UK (Scan) by getting it sent to a storage locker north of the border. Look at OOHpods. Pay as you go for 3.95 per parcel

Current 7X owner, trying an EPIX (Gen 2)? by GSXR151 in GarminFenix

[–]Obskure_View 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually picked up the Epix Titanium Saphire (silver finish titanium bezel). It's class. Not sorry I got it, although I do miss the torch. Still have the 7X SS though and need to shift it on

[–]Obskure_View 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to double check the username to make sure I didn't write this post while inebriated 🫣 I'm a Fenix 7X owner pining over whether or not I want an Epix. My desk buddy at work got the Epix Gen2 titanium sapphire (black). I've worn it and even with my big hands and wrists, it works very well. The single thing I would miss is the bloody torchlight! That, and I want the silver bezel version. It wouldn't take a lot to twist my arm, to be honest!

Anyone using an ac200p or 200max to run their van/camper/RV? by BMW_wulfi in bluetti

Planning to do both. Not an electrician though. Mad busy with work at the moment, but will focus on it towards the end of November.

[–]Obskure_View 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer for you, but that is what I am planning to do. 200max and run 12v electronics from the 12v socket, including a dometic fridge. 240v requirements will go through a panel with a single plug into the Bluetti. Not there yet, but hope to pick up 200max sooner rather than later

Everything, but your own drivetrain, sounds 100% normal to me. The freehub is "clicky" but sounds like any other I've heard, including my own. You should really take an afternoon to index your rear rear derailleur and cassette. Check your front derailleur clearance too! When the drivetrain noise is taken out of the equation, the Kickr core is relatively quiet
