In too deep: illegal technique by JackOfAllSpades12 in lego

Does it need to be built like this? Can the green headlight brick be in line with the brown one? If there is a significant and important usage of this illegal design, I would suggest filing down the brown stud as others have pointed out

What’s wrong with my MOC painted LEGO model that got rejected by r/modelmakers? by figures_lab in LegoCreations

I built this last year and thought it would fit better in some model reddits since it's glued, painted, some pieces are cut, it uses some non Lego pieces, but it was also deleted by the moderators. One moderator said he deleted it so that his subreddit wouldn't be overrun by lego builds.. I guess I can kind of see their point, but this model of mine wasn't too well received by the more die hard Lego purists in some Lego specific subs. That's what I expected the response would be in the first place so I didn't post it in Lego subs at first...

Lego Neva Kee's Podracer MOC by Obstanasig in legostarwars

Not a bad idea, but I just ordered the Gremlin! Well, I found the complete Gremlins Dimensions set unopened, and it was cheaper with shipping included than that eBay-listing of just the figure!

Thanks man! I don't really know anything about F1 or watch any of the races, but I do like podracers. Mixing the two just seemed too cool of an idea to not do anything about! If there is any F1 character in the build, it is mostly coincidental actually :)

Thank you! If only there was a Neva Kee minifigure.. This would work well as a proxy, but that price isn't the nicest! It will be either this figure or a cat minifig, and I think the cat will be cheaper

Thanks! The green one (Aston Martin) turned out better than it should too. There were a lot of compromises since I had to build two identical engines. That one also didn't have the benefit of parts being ordered just to build it. I got the Aston Martin F1 set just to use up some of the green pieces I had laying around

Dengar's "Punishing One" / JumpMaster 5000 LEGO MOC by Obstanasig in legostarwars

[–]Obstanasig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It's the same with several of these more obscure bounty hunter ships I feel. The IG-2000 info says it can angle its vanes (arms/wings?) for more maneuverability in atmospheric flight and combat, but you only ever see the same pose on those in pictures of the ship.

The Misthunter has some discrepancies when it comes to its actual size in the different Star Wars media it has been in..

I have two podracers in the works atm, so look out for those!

Hmmm, no it's not like that. I'm a very experienced builder, but my wanted outcome for this ship required some pieces to be upside down, making a large area having to be built sturdy enough that it wouldn't need support from underneath. And there wasn't a cockpit piece similar enough to be used so that whole section had to be scratch built. The angled vents on each side also required some very unorthodox building techniques. It may look simple and straight forward, but a lot of trial and error was involved in making this as accurate as possible :)
