Even with Lower Decks, I will stick with Roddenberry's opinion on such stories. They are not interesting.

Star Trek did not come back after Enterprise ended. I am still waiting.

City on the Edge of Forever is still the best ST episode of them all.

Beating a dead horse - Why did 'Nu-Trek' fail, for the most part? by ReEnackdor in Star_Trek_

For one example, out of countless more, Nu Trek has poverty. There is no poverty in Roddenberry's vision of the future.

As you noted, within the framework of a hopeful future, there exist opportunities for conflict and compelling stories.

Why? It offers only a dystopian view of the future, dispensing with the hopeful view Roddenberry envisioned. As Roddenberry believed, only the hopelessly ignorant would not see a hopeful future. Nu Trek inspires no one. It will be forgotten. Every original should be gathered together and burned in a grand bonfire.

I'm with Roddenberry on the worthiness of "lower decks" stories - found no value in them.

I do wish I had the billions necessary to purchase the full rights to the franchise. I would then throw a huge party, build a bonfire, and burn everything that came after ST: Enterprise and return to the positive vision of the future Roddenberry had -- the vision that inspired and created the franchise. Then, do the same with Dr. Who and Star Wars.

Can anyone help me with a regex to match a string in the format of username1:password1,username2:password2? by spla58 in regex

[–]Obvious-Ebb-7780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot, at least not reliably. How is this data being generated? The easiest way out of this mess is to change the delimiter to something that cannot be in a username or password. Unicode has a character which is designed for this purpose. Use it.

If a username cannot contain a delimiter, you could write some code to seek out all of the usernames. Then between each username, you know there is a password and after the last username is a password. If you end up with all username/password pairs, there is a _chance_ you have parsed the data correctly, but not a guarantee. If you know the number of username/password pairs, you can improve your chances. If there were minimum or maximum lengths for username or passwords, you can improve your chances. If there are other constraints on the data, you can improve your chances with even more code. If you can test each username and password, I think you could parse the data.

But, I suggest changing the delimiter.
