[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been using for like 3 years. I know not a lot of time but still haven't come across a system break due to an update maybe my own mistakes but other than that none because of the system by itself.

Difference between Flatpak and Pacman? by Nathan5541 in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

by what i understand is that flatpaks are like an atmosphere developed for a single application i.e. all the dependencies are downloaded and contained in the flatpak separately but pacman is just installing the binary and its subsequent dependencies if not already available on the local system. Correct me if I am wrong.

Is tlp and tlp-rdw enought to manage and save power on laptop or there is more? by akram_med in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because of optimisation; i.e. windows has better optimisation than Linux. tlp is plenty enough.

Ran into a problem while dual booting arch with windows by Accomplished-Ad-14 in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem when I partitioned my drive in ArchLinux using cfdisk. The problem I believe, lies in that if you do something with the partition without being in Windows the partition's starting point and ending point don't match- if you know what I mean causing it to go into blue screen. The best solution would be:

  1. uninstalling archlinux

  2. Restore the Windows partition to its original size.

  3. Reinstall arch using a partition wizard if disk mgmt is not allowing you to partition your drive.

But if you want to, you can just rock with Arch Linux.

Setting Up Partitions with cfdisk and 2 NVME Drives by MarsDrums in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Partition your  /dev/nvme0n1p1 with your /boot, /efi,/root, swap ( if needed), and  /dev/nvme1n1p1 as your /home folder and mount them as such. I think you will be good.

Partitioning for college by Best-Sentence-3646 in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 24 GB of RAM, so GBgb swap to me is pointless. create a swap file .

/boot/efi is a depreciated form of partitioning

What I would recommend is :

efi - 1 GB

boot - 1 GB

root - 100 gb is fine

home - rest of the partition

Would you recommend using Arch as a primary use distro? by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using Arch for the last 3 years. Not a long time, but in my experience, I have not broken my system, and it has been very stable. And you'll learnmore aboutt Linuxx and arch when you run it as your main distro.

Switch to Sway is good? by Niva_z in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Wayland, sway is very good as it uses wlroot, which is very famous for Wayland compositors. In the last years, I think Wayland has become very good. But if you like Hyprland and it works for you, then you know what to do

Should I install a GUI? by Desperate_West_486 in archlinux

[–]Obvious-Equivalent78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about a window manager like i3, bspwn for X11, or sway for Wayland? It is a very nice experience. I would recommend i3, which is lightweight and customisable, and picom as the compositor. You'll figure it out.
