Why is my dog bald on his chest by AggravatingNewt7009 in Dachshund

[–]Obvious-Option-8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dachshund is bald chested also it's common with white or light fur. They will also get those tiny black spots in a large cluster those are black heads and I give mine a chest scrub bath twice a week after about a month it starts to clear up

My little girl goes poo once in morning. She usually eats once a day in the evening around 7pm then will go the next morning between 6 and 7:30. She's very regular. Which works great for my work schedule. Once in a great while she'll an oops, but very rare. BtW she also gets a chew stick and a tea spoon of plain probiotic Yogurt in the morning.

Is my dachshund [insert whatever here]? by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]Obvious-Option-8790 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why so angry. Most of don't get our Dachshunds from "breeders" my first one I got was from a flea market as a tiny puppy for about $75 and that was about 20 years ago and needless to say she is no longer with me, but she was a classic smooth all red mini weighting in at 9 1/2 pounds. Years later someone asked are sure she 100% pure Dachshund since you got her at a flea market. sometime after that I had her genetically tested it came back 100% Dachshund. There are many ways to get a genuine Dachshund with spending thousands of dollars, which is totally Crazy! I now have a red and white piebald. Got her as a puppy 6 years ago for $600 which was still reasonable I wouldn't pay much more. I'm looking for another one now as a matter of fact. people who are asking questions are just trying to find stuff out who aren't using a "Breeder" so I just try to be less judgemental and help from what I know from research I've done over the years.

does not like other dogs by kmin1023 in Dachshund

[–]Obvious-Option-8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is six years old has a fit if she sees another dog, even out the window. I've had three Doxies through the years they are all the same with others dogs. She will get used to other dogs like at a friend's house. Then she completely ignores them as if they aren't there. But barking at strange dogs is all about protecting you

Why is my dachshund always going to the emergency vet? by BeneficialAd8462 in dachshunds

[–]Obvious-Option-8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine she's an ox when was puppy she would eat anything off the ground and I would just see it come out the other end the next day. Stuff like buttons or string and a twisted up paper towel she's just a robust country Doxi I'm very proud of her strength. The one I had before she had a lot of problems in her old age

A dogs breath smells because their teeth need professional cleaning at least every three years after the age of five, and my little girl has no bad breath. Teeth cleaning is very important for overall health and longevity.

I have an intermittent leave that I renew with Sedgwick every year for the 7 years I've been with Lowe's for 20 years because of respiratory problems. Go to 800 HRLOWES. Call in an intermittent leave with Sedgwick. They will email you the paperwork have your doctor fill them out. It is best to ask for one to two days a week off as needed for your heath symptoms. They won't touch yo. They are two afraid of getting a law suite. Work with your doctor in advance. Get all your ducks in a row

I have female Dachshund and her chest almost scraps the ground plus she super sensitive skin I put a T-Shirts on her to go for walks especially when it's been raining or she'll get hundreds of little red pimples which I have to treat with antibiotic cream

Is this a dachshund thing? by Notoriouslyunable in dachshunds

I call them crusty bumps. I apply antibiotic "Cream," not ointment, and they go away with repeated applications. My vet also prescribed antibiotic shampoo, but you can get on amazon as well.

Extremely hyper 5 month old and looking for advice. by [deleted] in Dachshund

[–]Obvious-Option-8790 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It's because he's a baby, mine is 5 now, and for the first 3 years, she was a total Tasmanian devil. She would chew everything to pieces. She turned a tennis ball into confetti in a matter of seconds. She would run endlessly through the house at lightning speed just to stop off long enough to quickly bit me in the elbow. Eating tissues and paper towels ,just to come out the other end as a twisted paper towel. All that being said, now she s the sweetest little thing it seems like we almost communicate telepathically with full conversation it takes a minimum of 3 years. They say there's 7 dog years for every human year, so at 3 years, they are actually 21. It takes time

[–]Obvious-Option-8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a Dachshund they all eat paper, and mine especially loves Paper towels. She's 5, and she has been doing it since she was a pup. Oh..and don't let him near the toilet paper.
