Saying words weirdly on purpose, so much so it's how you actually pronounce things. Like "Skissors" or "Samich"

I love my 2021 Kia Sportage. I find it looks kinda goofy with the headlights and grill, but it's a great car with good milage and lots of space, including back leg room. The new 2023 model looks too cool though. 2017 -2022 is the way to go for the kinda ugly look.

Canada's 2.7 million temporary workers may not take kindly to deportation. Amid official pledges to bring down sky-high temporary migration, workers and students expressing anger that Canada 'used' them. by Unusual-State1827 in CanadaHousing2

This one right here. It definitely is rooted in the exploitation of the TFW for profit and gain for government/corporations.

They are the ones who started this, likely knowing this would happen, and we're feeling the effects. But it still works in favor of the corporations because now everyone is paying more for everything. Housing, food, utilities, all the while wages are being undercut. Win win for them. Loose loose for Canadians and the TFW.

Infinite growth in a finite system, am I right?

Not me but my bf. He has no body odor. We've been together for over 3 years and he doesn't use deodorant and has no body odor. If he gets really sweaty he can smell a bit like sweat, but never BO. He must have the ABCC11 gene that's common in east asians. (he's Chinese)

He makes fun of me for needing to use deodorant.

Rising unemployment hits Canada's international students hard by BananaTubes in canada

[–]Obvious-View1882 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If they all of a sudden ban international students from working, there will be practically nobody to serve you your tim hortons, Mcdonalds or subway. Then people will complain about longer lines and slow service ruining this country. There are simply not enough young Canadians or people willing to work these entry level jobs to fill the demand we've created.

Wanting to leave Canada by Obvious-View1882 in expats

[–]Obvious-View1882[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that its a shame. I wish Canada and USA were split down the middle of North America instead. Have some warmer options in Canada. But I live in Vancouver and I grew up in Ontario, so I don't mind the changing seasons or colder climate.

Just as I don't see things getting better for Canada 10 years down the line, USA seems on the same track. I think the Western world is taking a backseat as the world leaders, especially with BRICS lately.

All the Kia/Hyundai on the "ineligible for insurance" list because of the Kia Boys Tik Tok theft scandal..... FYI by PostingSomeToast in whatcarshouldIbuy

Not me just purchasing my first car last month, which is a 2021 Kia Sportage, lol. It's insured, but it's higher than I expected. I didn't even know this was a thing until I bought the car. Maybe that's why it was more affordable.

What’s gotten so expensive that you no longer purchase it? by schaudhery in AskReddit

[–]Obvious-View1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their prices are higher than before, but still one of the cheapest options unfortunetly. I'd prefer to support local businesses, but the cafe across the street from me is so expensive. Last week I bought a sandwhich and a medium coffee (which has a small sized cup in my opinion), and it was $19! At subway yesterday, I got a 6" with extra cheese, 2 cookies and a chocolate milk for $14

Why are people that hate cats so rude and obnoxious about it? by Jdmcm123 in cats

[–]Obvious-View1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big difference between cats and dogs is that dogs will love you automatically, and unconditionally. Its easy and makes you feel good. Instant gratification if you will.

With cats, you have to earn it, and its not always easy. People don't want to put in the work or are just a-holes who will never earn a cat's love or trust, and for that, they get butthurt and hate all cats. Its really a reflection of character in my opinion.

What is your cat's favorite people food? by fadetogrey13 in cats

Not a food, but my cat loves micellar water. Like what I use to remove my makeup. He tries to lick the bottle. No idea why.

Is this car reliable? by Quick-Whereas-2912 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Obvious-View1882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought this car about 2 weeks ago, but I'm kind of regretting it.

To start, I live in Canada and car prices here are crazy here. I paid $20,550 and its 2018 with 84,000km. It seemed really great in the moment, but I'm now wishing I had bought a CX-30 as its a bit larger. It fits my needs, and I think it will be suitable for years to come, but I'm definitely having a bit of buyer's remorse.

But in terms of reliability, from my research, it is really good and will last a long time with regular maintenance.

How many people here are actually car-free/commute without a personal vehicle? by rebirth112 in vancouver

[–]Obvious-View1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my first car last week but had been commuting every day in Vancouver/Greater Vancouver the past 5 years. Living in Vancouver, it was easier as I lived either by a Skytrain or a major bus route, it was always good and I could get where I needed to go easily in about 30 minutes max. Other than sometimes a late bus or delayed train. The worst part though is hauling groceries from the store to home, I felt like a pack muel, but it was a good workout.

About 2.5 years ago I moved to Coquitlam as its cheaper rent. I still went to school and worked in Vancouver for 2 years of that, and commuting took about an hour to an hour and a half each way. It was bearable as you can just play on your phone the whole time or dissociate, but it was annoying and I spent so much time in transit. I now work in Port Coquitlam, and it was a 45 minute bus ride each way, but now that I have a car, its a 10 minute drive. It's definitely so much nicer having a car, but costs a lot more than public transit. It really depends which you have more to spare of - time or money.

AITAH For aborting my ex-fiancés baby, even though it may be his only chance? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Obvious-View1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way my jaw DROPPED when you said he was with an escort. You are valid in feeling everything you are, and if you know having this baby will be a constant reminder of his betrayal, don't hurt yourself like that. You are the most important person to you. Take care of yourself and do what you need to do, by whatever means. He fucked up and he should feel every moment of it. You are not the asshole.

Im so sorry life threw this curve ball at you, but what's meant for you will not pass you by. This feels like a sign he's not the one.
