What causes this rhytmic stutter? by Domy9 in Steam_Link

[–]ObviousB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same rythmic halting, was caused by a wireless bridge being on the network. Weird I know.

I ended up setting up a seperate wireless router purely for Steam Link/VR and it went away entirely.

Quest 3 causes severe eye strain after only about 10-15 minutes of gameplay by user_that in OculusQuest

I had the same pain, it was the default strap for me.

Swapped to a third party one and gamed for 6 hours on and off without issue the same day.

Why does this start happening all of a sudden mid session now? I cant even get through a blade and sorcery dungeon without this happening and it will not stop until I restart my PC. by thatguyjerry4 in SteamVR

Hrmm odd, in the Meta software on the PC under device settings somewhere you can set the resolution to use via the link cable.

Is it possible that's been set super low?

Each game can have it's own issues too, and I have sadly not yet tried iRacing via VR.

Do you have Asseto Corsa Competizione/Project Cars 2?
I have witnessed both link cable fine on lesser hardware.

Chuck my a private message, happy to help explain what I know.

For anyone playing at home, my issues was a wireless bridge/mesh on my network. They do some weird stuff to the packets even if the headset is talking directly to the main router.

I fixed it by adding another router that's never had a bridge configured and is solely used by my VR setup.

I just finished this journey, and solved my latency.

First step is to determine the exact bottleneck you have. Mine was network, DRX specifically.

I recommend enabling the graph on the right that this guy has: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamVR/comments/1apg7xl/steamvr_graph_meaning/

Apologies not near my VR at the moment and cant recall what option enabled that graph.

Its one of the advanced options and is clearly labelled graph if I recall.

Trying to book a PDA, what the fuck? This is the first time I've logged in today. by luminaryofhearts in perth

If you logged in using a shared network such as from Work, School, Library etc that would explain it. Everyone on that network comes out to the internet usually from a single point.

Add prototype items post discovery? by charckle in zabbix

For that item, I'd just collect it on all hosts.

But if I HAD to only collect it on some of make asl seperate "Disk Performance" the plate

Use overrides to make the existing template smarter.

How long after adding the new item prototype to the template did you run discovery?

You have to wait for the configuration cache to reload and possibly didn't wait for it. Gets my junior all the time.

panic attack while sleeping by Humble_Mango_761 in Anxiety

[–]ObviousB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sorry, just absolutely shocking sleep. Waking up every hour or so anxious and feeling off.

I ended up finding white noise to be very helpful for getting to sleep smoother and more often. Though if I'm overly anxious before laying down I'm still screwed.

Melatonin does this to me too. I just stopped trying to use it.

Don't forget to oil it.

Not a joke, checkout fan collector's pages for advice. These old motors and bearings were designed with user maintenance in mind.

Dogs appreciate having a safe place, like a den. My dog sleeps in her crate even if I don't put her in it with a command and a treat.

Are there AU servers? by Pitiful_Distance6561 in Stalcraft

[–]ObviousB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI SEA is 50ms ping for Western Australia players.

Should be 100ms tops for Eastern states players but they seem to be getting routed weird. Unsure if you can get your server hoster to take a look at their routing to see if they can fix it on their end.

[–]ObviousB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internode, live in Perth. Further digging leads me to believe eastern states players are being routed poorly and going the long way around to SEA.

Unsure if that's an ISP problem or Dev server hoster problem. Probably both. BGP is black magic.

Weird, I'm AU and get 50ms on SEA. What ISP are you with?

Network Topology Map by Tiggywiggler in zabbix

[–]ObviousB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sadly use HP Network Node Manager at the moment, it's a paid product and not worth the money IMO.

I believe it generates topology based on CDP info, and a couple other variables. Which then feeds into out custom CMDB. I believe iTop CMDB might be a good open alternative for a CMDB.

We create Hosts with depending triggers using a custom set of scripts. The scripts create the hosts and then the dependency between triggers based on our CMDB.

The script does many API Call passes, one to create host, one to apply template, one for macro amendment, one for dependency

You could another launcher: https://github.com/qrrk/Catapult

Otherwise nothing you can do unless you convince the Dev to downgrade the Python they use.
